Q. I've been thinking of getting the tab lately, what with everyone getting tablets, and i had my mind set on Samsung galaxy tab 10.1, and so i studied its specs on all those websites,
and there i found the sites mentioning the Samsung series 7 slate, i was mesmerized, it was a little PC in a tab, it had all the benefits of the agility of a tablet design, slick, light, portable, touch screen, two cams, and sim card slot, only with more appealing specs (to me) :USB port, SD card reader, powerful processor (i5), a bluetooth keyboard, digitized screen with a stylus, and a docking station.
My friend thinks that because i praise the slate so much that i already made up my mind, and it may sound like i already have but i'm torn..
I don't care about the price difference, my only concern is the user interface, and whether i will miss out on the galaxy tab fun way of operating, and the awesome store with thousands of cool apps, coz the slate is a PC in the end, i'm afraid it's gonna be dull, i'm not sure whether the slate has a store like that....
plus i'm not sure if using the slate is gonna be practical and whether i'd feel held down by its accessories (stylus, keyboard, docking station)... after all, its the feeling of freedom that lured me into the tablets world in the first place (you don't have to be tied down to a desk or a table) plus the fun experience created by the ipad-like user interface
Please help me make my decision quickly coz i cant wait to get a tablet and join the rest of the world !!!
A. To make it short, the tablet is for play and internet use, and the other one is a laptop.
Basically, if you are using it to go and check your email, the tablet will be better. If you want to play games or travel a lot, get the tablet.
If you type word documents or type a lot, the netbook is better. Also, the Samsung Galaxy Tab does not have a USB Port, which is a problem for some. Also the SD slots is good if you are using it as a main computer.
To bring it all to an end, if you already own a Computer, then the Tablet is for you. If not, get the netbook.
Hope this helps :)
P.S. The Netbook IS NOT good for intense gaming
Galaxy Note Tablet 10.1 2?
Q. Has anyone came across any of the accessories for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Tablet? I have been searching for about 3 weeks now and have not seen anything as far as cases, covers or keyboard docking. Of course I checked the obvious with Ebay and ppl claiming there products are compatible with the device but have not been proven yet. Anyone with any helpful advice to help me protect my investment.

iPad 2 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1?
Q. Alright well, I've done A LOT of research into the matter. I have a limited budget of around 600 dollars... which I want to use for apps and accessories as well. So probably 16GB Wifi on both models
I've never owned a tablet, so I'm not too sure about what all the apps can do and how much space they take, but
I have an iPod touch 4th gen 8gb, which I've filled, and had to delete a lot of music to make room for apps.
I mainly use these devices for gaming, music and I'm looking to store several movies on my tablet, or atleast as many that fit.
I also use them alot for video streaming and web browsing, but I don't think that would affect storage.
iPad 2;
LOTS OF APPS, and I really enjoy a lot of the games like Infinity Blade and find Garage Band and Pages very productive.
No Flash - I'm not sure if that affects web browsing alot these days, but from what I've read, it makes a difference towards your experience.
No expandable storage, and I'm looking to put a lot of apps, music, movies, or atleast as many as I can.
REALLY bad cameras compared to the Galaxy Tab.
A more square screen.
Galaxy Tab 10.1 ;
Runs Flash
Expandable Storage, I would probably get a 1-2 TB external storage and store ALL my movies and music there, which would really come in handy instead of having to replace movies and music all the time to save space.
Widescreen, better for movies, not so sure about the apps.
Better software, yes apple is coming out with iOS 5, but its pretty much everything Honeycomb could do, months late.
VERY few apps made for tablets, most are phone versions stretched out.
I know Android is new, but with all the new android tablets coming out, very few tablet-apps are following..
I'm not trying to hate on Apple or Google, I just don't know which one to choose.
What would you get?
What do you mostly do with your tablet?
How much storage do you think is good for me?
Should I stretch my budget and go for the iPad 2 32gb?
If you have one of these tablets, what are some of the cons about them that you dislike?
Thanks
(:
& by external storage I meant just get a USB Drive or external hard drive with alot of storage.
A. Get the galaxy tab
I prefer android over apple for the reason that its open-source, that means that the majority of the apps are free, and you get more revolutionary and cutting edge apps. And do things are even only barely available on a jail broken iphone
The android market already has 250000(only 300 specifically for tablet) apps- closing in on apple 500000; some say it will surpass it before the year is over. Also any popular ipad game or game adaptation can be found in the android market for free.
Another great thing about android as that if you dont like something (keyboard, homescreen, etc.) it can easily be swapped without jail-breaking, unlike the ipads one-size-fits-all approach.
Galaxy tab over ipad
Turn-by-turn voice GPS
Better higher resolution screen
No need to connect to computer to sync
More customizable
More powerful hardware
Flash support, watch ALL the online videos
Better cameras
Lighter and thinner
Widgets
Apple lovers that say that the ipad is made of better quality material? They donât realize that Samsung, an android phone/tablet maker, supplyâs the screen, processor and memory for apple devices, so android has the advantage here.
Also apple never invents anything, all they do is steal old technology, give it a fresh coat of paint and mass advertise it as âmagicalâ and âinnovatingâ, thus fooling the mass of the population into believing that apple offers cutting edge technology, that in fact has been around for quite a few years.
So instead of innovating, apple actually hinders technology- after 4 years they still have low-power single core phones and tablets, while android, an example of technology in overdrive, has rumored that, after their second year, the release of quad core phones and tablets that will surpass even some desktop computers in shear processing power.
Apple should now feel pretty worried; android has passed it in market share
http://www.businessinsider.com/android-iphone-market-share-2011-4
Then apple panics and sues
http://www.dailytech.com/Google+ExCEO+Apple+Doesnt+Innovate+They+Sue/article22190.htm
The funny thing is that apple canât sue for being the first touchscreen or tablet, because they werenât,(Nokia fist touch screen, âarchosâ first tablet) so instead they sue for much more relevant things like, âthe rounded icon cornersâ and âhaving a flat screenâ or âthe square shape of the phoneââ¦â¦..
To top it all, if youâve seen apples 2011 presentation, they blatantly copied over five "new" features that were previously on android.
http://androidandme.com/2011/06/news/five-features-in-ios-5-that-show-how-apple-is-now-playing-catch-up-to-google/
http://www.droid-life.com/2011/06/06/apple-introduces-ios5-with-notifications-ota-updates-and-tabbed-browsing-android-users-giggle-at-their-late-arrival/
1. Notification bar
2. Twitter integration
3. No need to connect to PC to sync
4. Launch apps from lock screen
5. Tabbed browsing
And not only are they copies, but apple didnât even bother to improve, or change some of them in any way- some even have LESS features than their android counter parts, itâs basically a cheap imitation with the ever-popular iphone skin.
According to Steve jobs, these "revolutionary" new technologies that android users had since 2007 will be available on IOS5, and it would not surprise me to see some more android features from 2008 on IOS6.But the truly sad part is that due to apples marketing, in a few months, apple lovers will really think that apple invented those features and call android the copycatsâ¦yet again.
Though I suppose Google shouldâve seen it comingâ¦.
âGood artists copy great artist stealâ- Steve jobs (apple CEO)
