Q. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant, and the battery life is ridiculously low (although I suppose I should have seen that coming with a smartphone). How can I extend it?
A. Android is good at managing memory if it needs some it will auto close programs that are not being used.
Every time you kill an app it takes battery power for the thing to load if its setting in memory it is not consuming any power.
the only thing that battery saver programs does is show you more in depth of what you battery is doing (which uses battery)
and gives you options to auto do things when the battery reachs a certain level.
Things you can do to save battery
dont be updating email, facebook, weather automatically every 15 mins try either every half an hour or hour or manually.
set you phone to sync contacts and stuff at night when it would be plugged in
turn 3g off if not actively using it-or you are in an area that it bounces 2g-3g and back that uses a ton of battery
turn wifi and blue tooth off if you are not using it
its a smart phone its not meant to last a week on one charge like old flip phones did
depends on the phone but alot of these phones pack up to a 1GHz processor that's faster then all computers 4 years ago and it fits in the palm of your hand
Does My Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant have a FFC?
Q. I just bought the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant from T-Mobile. I know some versions of the phone do have a front facing camera, and some don't. Mine has two little circles in the top left corner of the screen which looks like one of them can be a camera.
How can I tell? I can't figure it out. Please help.
A. They are not camera's, the one on the left is the "Proximity Sensor", and the one on the right is the "Light Sensor". If you noticed when your talking on the phone and you move the phone away from your face, the screen will turn on, and when you put it back to your face, it will turn off. And the light sensor, will automatically adjust the screen brightness to conserve energy according to your battery settings if you have set it to Automatic.
Now your thinking, crap I thought I had a video calling phone!, well guess what? you do. The camera on the back may not see your face, but it still does video calling with Tango, and ooVoo.
How do I know all this? I own a Samsung Galaxy S, I hope I answered your question :)
