Q. I currently have a micro sd card in my phone. Is the music stored on there or the phone itsself? The phone I have now is great and has a usb cable that I can easily plug in and get music but the new phone I want, Samsung Galaxy s II doesn't look like it has a way to connect it to the computer.
A. If you have music from your phone saved to the memory card, when you connect it to your PC or lap top with a USB cord a prompt should pop up. This will show the card as a "Removable Device" that you can click on and view the contents that are on your card. This will allow you to open photos, music, and games that you had on your phone.
Most phones that have SD cards save all items to that card, unless you didn't have the SD card in the phone from day 1. Ask your Samsung service provider specific phone model questions or concerns you may have about connecting to your computer.
How to put movies on my phone?
Q. I recently downloaded V for Vendetta, and I would like to put it on my phone, which is a Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The file is currently in a .avi format, and there's another copy that is a .wmv file. I've tried using the USB cable and copying it to my Movies, but it doesn't work?
lol i feel dumb.
A. That file type might not work, but file conversion is a whole different topic.
To get the file on your phone in the first place, grab a free WiFi transfer utility. Just search "wifi transfer" or similar on the Google Play store. You'll have a few decent options, and they're all pretty much the same.
From there, it's easy enough. Just open the app, make sure your WiFi is on, hit "Start", "Go", etc. and type the IP address and password (if there is one) in and you're in a file explorer right there on your PC wirelessly, which rocks. Just upload it via right-click option, drag and drop, or however that particular app does it.
Beware, though. Some of those utilities have file size caps so if it says the movie is too large, try a different app.
