Can i change from using a blackberry to an iphone when still in a 18 month contract ?
Q. im currently in a contract with o2 and i got the blackberry torch with it . But now i want to change to an iphone 4 and am unsure how to . If i buy the iphone handset will o2 send me a micro sim with my current contract on ?/ if they wouldn't how much would it cost me to get one ?
any help would be hugely appreciated :) im really confused , thanks
A. On a personal level it never ceases to amaze me what people see in Iphone until they get them home and realise the many restrictions it has, mainly locking you to iTunes. eg you can't receive a song by bluetooth, the IP4 which is more of a "closed" system, e.g limited bluetooth on Iphone, no adobe flash and iphones do NOT multi task.

But then the Iphones are the most traded smartphone of all the smartphones.
Just had a quick look see at the "over price" of this year old item
and when I said defy logic and gravity I meant this £505 for the 16GB & 32Gb £610

When you consider that many accept that the SAMSUNG GALAXY S1 is a "direct" competitor of the IP4 'better' as the restrictions above are not applicable to the SGS 1,

Both IP4 & SGS I were released in 2010 This is the price of the handset IP4 ALONE
There have been 4 Dual Core mobile phones released in 2011, which set new heights in functionality.
The IP5 is due for release before October 2011 and whilst the IP5 exact specifications are still not known multitasking is still omitted, which feature on the majority of smart phone, and the afore mentioned dual core (see link 'Apple iOS 5 review: First look' already provided)
Maybe sell the Torch to buy an Apple which will be 2.75 years antiquated at the end of your contract
Can my Verizon Blackberry Bold be unlocked to use a pre-paid SIM card, like Straight Talk?
Q. I have an old Verizon Wireless Blackberry Bold (think it's a Blackberry Bold 9650). I would like to unlock it so that I can use the phone with a SIM card from a cheap pre-paid service, like Straight Talk or SimpleMobile or something like that. Can it be done? And can I port my phone number over to the Blackberry. (I currently have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus and I want to get off of Verizon even though my Early Termination Fee (ETF) will be like $230). Thoughts??
A. Even if unlocking was possible for them, neither Straight Talk or Net10 allow any Blackberry model to be used with their prepaid SIM program. SIMple Mobile does, though.
The problem is that while the Blackberry Bold 9650 phone might be dual GSM/CDMA capable. The ones sold through Verizon have the domestic GSM portion locked out via phone programming and locks. Those locks are possible to bypass though, but it is not recommended for novices to attempt, as a failure to bypass properly will yield a bricked phone.
I am fully with you as far as wanting to get away from Verizon. I just completed my contract with them last month, and ported out from them, and yet they still are trying to bill me for services no longer being rendered, claiming that it is "policy".
