Q. Honestly, which one is better? I'm getting a new phone soon & I'm not so sure. I just want to know which is better & all that. Someone told me today that the iPhone 5 sucks, compared to the Galaxy S3, they said it's like taking $5(iPhone 5) next to $50(galaxy). So from anyone who has either of these phones which would you recomend?
Thanks!
A. Go with the iPhone. When someone sells an Android phone, it will usually be pretty worthless by the time the contract ends. When the iPhone 4 contract ends, you will be able to sell it for about double, maybe even triple, what the equivalent year's Android sells for. Not to mention, not every app is available for each Android. Every Android app has a list of compatible devices. If you get an iPhone 4, everything in the app store is compatible.
Just for the sake of example, let's say you got an iPhone 4 2 years ago when it first came out and also a Galaxy S when it first came out. If you sold the Galaxy right now, you wouldn't even get $100 for it. More like $60 or $70. I just sold an iPhone 4 two days ago for a bit over $270. That iPhone 4 paid for my upgrade to the iPhone 5. And not just the phone, but a case, tax, and the upgrade fee too. If I had a Galaxy, well, I could almost pay for the phone (I think the price of the SIII is $99 right now). iPhones keep their value better. Once you invest in the latest model, if you upgrade to the latest every other year, it's like you never have to invest in another phone again because it just keeps paying for itself.
The whole "iPhone can't use Flash" thing is a myth that is several years behind. Download the Photon browser from the App store and use that instead of Safari.
For another thing, let's say something goes wrong with your Android phone. Getting someone to help you will be like pulling teeth. Getting Apple support is easy. I think Android might have more apps these days, but since not every app is compatible with every Android, there's the question of what percentage of the apps in the store your specific phone can use. The iPhone can use 100% in its app store.
Also, software updates tend to come late to Android phones. But with iPhones, you know exactly when you are going to get your update because everyone gets the update at the exact same time.
Viruses. They have statistics online on what percentage of mobile viruses are on Android as opposed to iOS, Windows, and Blackberry combined. I don't remember the specific values, and even if I did, I read them last year, but I remember Android definitely had the vast majority. On a similar note, I recommend this reading:
http://www.itworld.com/mobile-wireless/2â¦
To sum it up, there are loads of viruses and antimalware apps aren't doing so hot over all at stopping them. This isn't a problem that is prevalent in iOS at all.
Loads of people say you can't customize an iPhone, but those people should definitely see my sister's iPhone. I don't know how she managed it without jailbreaking, but she has the pinkest, most sickeningly-sweet layout on her phone I've ever seen. Like everything is pink and covered in flowers and all that lol. It's definitely customizable.
Cant update my samsung galaxy s3?
Q. at school today i saw my friend had some new features, he said he just updated, so i tryed to update mine the same (im on 4.1.1 and he is on 4.1.2) but it keeps saying there is no update avalable? i heard some phones arnt supoorted in this update and that u have to root ur phone and flash the rom but i cbf flashing a new rom just for 1 update, im on telstra and i have the 4g modle of the phone, however my friend does not... why would they update the early modle gs3 but not the new one? or am i just doing somethig wrong? ( i dont see what i can do wrong
A. I'm in the U.S but I can answer your question. The update really depends on your carrier, they are the ones that decide if the update is up to their standards (aka "bloatware" compatible, new radios to catch signal, and usability.) So in your case you carrier might not have pushed the update yet. He could also have an international model which does get updates directly from Samsung and just put it on a carrier's plan. So if you do want the latest of Android, you'll want to root. My model S3 is only on 4.1.1 but rooted I'm running a 4.2.2 ROM. Hope this helps.
i installed 4.2.2 liquidsmooth on my samsung galaxy s3 metro pcs, is there a way to go back to the originalone?
Q. i installed jellybean 4.2.2 liquid smooth on my phone but i didnt back up before installing. is there another way to go back to the original firmware or atleast make kies recognize my phone again. (my phone is rooted) please help me plzzz
A. sure you can, just download official firmware and search for the firmware according to your device version, firmware code for 4.1.2 (official) is I9300XXELKC_I9300XXELK4_I9300XXELKC_HOME.tar.md5 and for 4.2.1 (official) is I9300XXUFMB3_I9300OJKFMB3_HOME.tar.md5
In this case, my device is Samsung Galaxy S3 International version
Just googling for your own device.
Use Odin3_v3.04 (choose PDA) and browse for the firmware
Don't forget to reset to factory reset and back up your apps and datas to your external SD card.
Hope it is useful for you
