As the other person stated, yes you can use the same apps for both devices but this is not just a Samsung thing, any Android device that is setup with the same user information on Google can share the same apps. What you will get if you purchase a Samsung tablet is Touchwiz. This is Samsung's Android overlay that gives you extra functions that other Android tablets will not have. Since you are familiar with the S3 user interface if you get the Galaxy Tab 2 then the interface will be exactly like your phone. Both devices will have the same version of Android JellyBean so the settings will look the same on both devices. Samsung makes a great product and with a tablet from them you will not have any trouble navigating the option screens.
