A. Essentially the same.
Samsung is the company, of course.
Galaxy S is a "line" of phones. There's now also Galaxy S2, and soon, S3. There's also a "base" Galaxy S.
Within that line, there are multiple models. For example, the Samsung Fascinate is a Galaxy S phone (only for Verizon).
Most people drop the "S" in Galaxy S.
I want to get a verizon samsung fascinate, can i get facebook without getting the WHOLE package?

What do you mean by that? you'll be paying for the phone (which is $150 i think) and apps like facebook, youtube and google are included with the phone but they're free so you're not paying extra for them. If you want something just to access facebook and nothing else, but an ipod touch. You can get facebook on there and there's no monthly fees or anything.
