Q. I would have to pay for it and was wondering if it is worth it?
A. NO! just look at this picture.

This picture explains a lot! I mean just look at the nice size difference. And then the CUSTOMIZATION you get on the Android. You get to move apps where you want and you get the widgets!!!
So what else??
Go with the S3!
Battery life- Both phones have a battery that they say will last! But the one advantage is that the s3 has a removable battery, meaning you can buy a bigger battery if you want. The iphone 5 has a 1440mAh battery and the S3 has a 2100mAh battery. If you want you can get a 4000mAh battery for the s3 and the phone can last for.....DAYS.
Along with the S3 you get the SD card which is AmAzInG. All your music, pictures, and videos on the card to easily be removed! Just think... If you drop your phone in water, what happens to all your info on your Apple Iphone with the internal storage??? well SOL if you dont have icloud (ohh and you only get 5gb FREE or you have to pay per month to back things up, and who has less then 5GB of stuff on a 16 and 32GB model phone?). BUT, if you have the s3 with the new sd cards that are (waterproof, shock proof, temp proof) then you can just take the sd card out and you still have your music, pictures, videos, and contacts (if you back up your contacts on your SD card) Its just awesome!
As for internet use- s3 would give better internet. The screen would allow for less scrolling because its 0.8 inches bigger. It also has a higher resolution so text would be even more crisp. If you dont believe me, the phones screen is 0.8 inches bigger on the s3. The resolution on iphone is 640 x1136 pixels, 4 inches (~326 ppi pixel density). S3 its 4.80 inches with a 720 x 1280 pixels, pixel density: 306 ppi. Its just the bigger screen that kills the PPI on the S3
But yes go for android!
oh weight-
Apple- 3.95oz and 4.70oz for S3 (but with bigger screen its expected to weigh more)
dropped my phone in water? help please?
Q. i dropped my phone in my friend's hot tub.
i was in shock so it was in the water for a good 5 to 10 seconds.
it turned off in the water.
i took it out, took the battery out and immediately put it in rice.
i left it in there for about 24 hours.
since i took it out it hasn't been working right. it starts up but then it shuts off and keeps doing this for about 10 minutes. then it will turn on and stay on for about 5. then it says that the battery is overheating and that i should take it out. or it says that the battery isn't in there.
i have called to get a replacement phone. thank god i got a warranty on it haha.
but my question is, what can i do in the meantime?
and is the problem with the battery or the phone itself?
also. i was throwing around the idea of getting the Droid by straight talk. any thoughts on this phone or the carrier? (straight talk).
thanks to all suggestions or thoughts.
A. Well, I'm going to start off by clarifying a few things. Not all Android phones are "Droids;" the "Droid" moniker is licensed to Verizon for use with Motorola and certain HTC devices.
Also, there are three Android devices on Straight Talk: The LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Q, and the Samsung Galaxy Precedent. If you decide to go with straight talk, the best one to get would be the Optimus Black, which has Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), a 4" touchscreen, a 5MP camera, a 1GHz processor (rare to see on a prepaid device), and it comes with a 4GB microSD card and supports up to 32GB. It's also only $45 a month for unlimited everything on Straight Talk so this could be a very good deal for you. The phone itself is $329.99, but is the best of their phones and of course comes without a contract.
As for your current phone, the problem is most likely both the phone and the battery. Even with immediately putting them both in rice, water gets into very odd and small places that may not seem important but can cause serious problems. I would try and see if you can use a friend's old phone or one of your old phones while waiting for the replacement because continued use of the phone could result in electrocution or it will probably full on stop working.
