Q. I have a Samsung Galaxy S II epic 4G touch and today the power button stopped working. Now the only way for the screen to wake up is if I connect the charger or take the battery out and put it back in. Any solutions to this problem? I really don't want to do a factory reset but if I do is there a way for me to connect my phone to my computer and back up some of the files like music, pictures, contacts, etc.
I got my phone at Christmas, it's 7 months old.
A. Corrosion seems to be a big problem with these fones. Yes you can back up the data to the sd card if its on the sd card already just remove it to be safe. And do reset. As for power button if its under warranty take.it to store Nd have them fix.it.. Or your out about 500 for.breaking seals.
What can i do to reset my phone or battery?
Q. I have a samsung galaxy SII Epic and today out of the blue my phone battery starts draining. I really do not want to get another phone. So I do nt know what to if i have to reset my phone or if it is a battery defect PLEASE HELP!!
A. Go to Settings -> Battery and look at the graphs. You can see what specifically is using battery power on the device and adjust as necessary. Have you changed any settings, especially the display? The biggest drain on smartphone batteries is the display. Keep it set as low as possible to save the battery.
You might also need to recalibrate the battery, something you need to do with lithium-ion batteries.
1. Run the phone until the battery is drained and the phone shuts off. Don't power the phone on yet.
2. Connect your charger. Once you do this you can power up the phone. Leave the charger on for at least one hour *after* the phone indicates it is fully charged.
3. This is a good thing to do one every couple of weeks. This should enhance the life of the battery and help it last longer.
What is the difference between A and mAh in batteries?
Q. So, I'm curious about what does A and mAh stands for and in what eays they differ. Cause I saw on the portable charger this output 5v-500mAH having a capacity of 8000mah, and in my samsung galaxy tab charger it has 5v-2A. Is it okay to modify this portable charger by changing its plug to be used on my galaxy tab?
A. No. Never modify a charger. Doing so could cause damage
and void any warranties expressed by the manufacturer(s).
'Ah' Stands for Amp Hours. 'mAh' stands for Milli amp (10th.
of an Amp) Hours. This means what current can be pulled
from the battery in a certain time frame before reaching the
point of 'time to be charged'. 5 Volts @ 500 mAh will not
operate your galaxy. This can only supply 5 Volts DC @ 1/2
an Amp! Your galaxy requires (at least) 2 Amps to operate
as the manufacturer intended. If you wish to operate your
galaxy from your car, you should be able to purchase a unit
(or build an adaptor) that can turn 12 Volts to 5 Volts. This
would require a 5 Volt regulator circuit. You can find such
a device at Radio Shaft, the 'fast food of electronics'. This
can be easily assembled if you have a good mechanical
aptitude and the ability to solder. Feel free to e-me.
