Q. I'm getting a tablet of some sort for Christmas I just don't know what kind yet. I picked between ipad 2 or 3, google nexus, and Samsung galaxy tab. I'm only 13 and I use my iPod alot! Tell me which one will run faster and hold better battery and for games an Internet and stuff. just tell me which one is better and why.
A. I would strongly recommend the Nexus 10 which is coming out November 13, 2012 (but I would wait a month for any issues to be worked out before I buy, I would recommend to wait on any device that just comes out).
My second choice would be the Nexus 7, since this device has been around since the end of June, there would be no need to wait.
Here are reasons why..
Nexus 10:
CPU: 1.7GHZ Exynos 5250 (the first true ARM 15 chip)
RESOLUTION: 2560 X 1600
SCREEN SIZE: 10.1 inches
PPI: 300 [pixels per inch]
RAM: 2GB RAM (2x the memory of IPAD 4, 4x the memory of the IPad Mini)
STORAGE: 16gb - 64gb (Same as IPAD 4)
CAMERAS: 1) 5mp Rear Camera 2) 1.9 mp front camera
SPEAKERS: 2 Stereo speakers
NFC: Yes (Near Field Communication)
Pad 4
CPU: A6x dual core CPU (dual A7 used in each core, not a true A15 core)
GeekBench Score: 1601
Ram: 1gb
Storage: 16gb-64gb
Resolution: 2048 x 1436 pixels (how many pixels across and down the screen)
PPI: 264 (Pixels Per Inch)
NFC: NO
Cameras: 1) 1.2MP Front Camera 2) 5MP Rear
Speaker: 1 Mono speaker on the side
Price: $500+ (16gb)
The Nexus 10 with it's Exynos 5250 has proven to be faster browsing the internet, 2x or faster than the A6 (A6x is an A6 with better Graphics capability), has higher resolution even than the IPad 4 (which is Apples top product), Nexus 10 is $100 less than the cheapest IPad 4, with higher MP cameras than the IPad 4. The nexus 10 also has good quality stereo speakers on the front of the tablet vs the IPad 4 mono speaker on the side. There are more free apps on Google Play store (Andriod Market Place), although there are sill more paid apps in the Apple Store, Google is catching up here too. Overall apps, the Google Play Store had 675,000 apps vs 700,000 in Apple store but if you look at trend, Google has been increasing at a faster rate and been catching up here too. Out of the 700,000 apps in the Apple Store only 275,000 are available for the IPad, whereas a much higher percentage of apps in the Google play store are compatible with the Andriod Tablets like Nexus 10 or Nexus 7. You will hear some people argue "not all apps are optimized for tablets" in Google Play, but I see this as a positive, it is much better to be able to "run" an app that was meant for a phone (and will later get updated to be optimized for the tablet) than not be able to "run" that app at all.
On top of that the Andriod 4.2 OS on Nexus 10 allows for multiple users vs only one user on IPad.
IPad Mini
CPU: A5 dual core (old outdated CPU)
GeekBench Score: 755 (based on IPad 2 with the same specs) (HOW FAST IS IT)
Ram: 512mb (notice apple did not mention RAM memory) which is only 1/2 gb
Storage: 16gb
Resolution: 1024x768 (how many pixels across and down the screen)
PPI: 162 (Pixels Per Inch)
NFC: NO
Cameras: 1.2mp 5mp Rear
Price: $329 (16gb)
The Nexus 7 and Kindle HD 7 are both $199/$249 (16gb/32gb).
Nexus 7
CPU: NVidia Tegra 3 Quad Core 1.3ghz
GeekBench Score: 1577 (HOW FAST IS IT)
Ram: 1024mb (1gb) (2x the memory of the Ipad Mini, same amount as IPad 4)
Storage: 16gb /32gb
Resolution: 1280x800 (how many pixels across and down the screen)
PPI: 216 (Pixels Per Inch)
NFC: YES
Cameras: 1.2mp (1280p)
Price: $199/$249 (16/gb/32gb)
Amazon Kindle Fire 7
CPU: OMAP 4460 Dual Core 1.2ghz
GeekBench Score: 1052 (HOW FAST IS IT)
Ram: 1024mb (1gb)
Storage: 16gb/32gb
NFC: NO
PPI: 216 (Pixels Per Inch)
Cameras: HD Camera (only 720p)
Price: $199/$249 (16/gb/32gb)
So for $199 on Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD 7 (compared to IPad Mini) you get (double the speed for Nexus 7, 1.5 times the speed for Kindle Fire HD 7), double the RAM memory on both, NFC (Near Field Communication) on Nexus 7. Nearly as many apps on Nexus 7 (Android Market has been catching up and will eventually have more apps, it already has more FREE apps). All for $130 less. Also note, the IPad mini is basically the outdated IPad 2 crammed into a smaller case with IOS 6 instead of IOS 5.
So Nexus 10, Nexus 7 wins on Price Point, Speed.(even the Amazon Kindle Fire HD has a better price point and speed). The trend of Apps are in favor of Andriod, and there are actually more compatible apps in the Google Play Store for Andriod Tablets than there are in the Apple Store for the IPad.
Need Some Help Picking the Right Tablet.?
Q. I want to get a tablet, and that is for sure. I don't want to pay the money for an iPad 2, so I'm trying to pick out another one thats at least $400 or below. I've been looking around and I've found products like the Motorola Xoom, Dell Streak 7, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, but I don't know what to choose. I'm going to use pretty much for everything it gives me: apps, internet, photos, video, music etc. I'm 13 years old so I'm going to use this in the case of being bored and wanting to pull up a game, or wanting to check the scores of today's game, or maybe just pulling it out to take pictures or a video of some celebrity that I might have run into. Its just that I want to be able to do many things with it. Although I sound like I'm expecting a lot, I'm not much of a negative Nancy when it comes to screen resolution, size, and things like that. I do not want any 3G or 4G or any of those, just simple WiFi. I also want to make sure it has support for ebooks or whatever it's called, like the Kindle and those downloading and reading books things. If you could give me a few suggestions it'd be very much appreciated. I plan on just carrying this around in my backpack or whatever. I also tend to download very many apps, so I don't want something that supports crappy apps. Please don't tell me just to get the iPad 2, because I already realize that it's probably the best of the best, but I just don't feel like getting something like that for $500, when my Dad is getting me a surprisingly nice laptop for only $450. Think of that, a laptop for $450, and a tablet for $500. It just doesn't work that way. I'd also enjoy if it had support for programs like Microsoft Word, but I'm going to guess there is no such thing as support for that on a tablet. But I'm just throwing it out there.
A. i would recommend samsung galaxy tab. it is considered one of the best.
Why is everyone OBSESSED with Apple products and nothing else?
Q. I have been done lots of research on technology, cell phones, and even tablets. Now I'm a proud owner of a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I am a Samsung fanboy to say the least and I was pretty mad when I heard that Apple sued Samsung.
Now you know how people say that so many people have smartphones that it's just crazy, right? Well what I've found out is that's actually not the case. Actually so many people just have iPhones not even other kinds of smartphones. Here's my evidence:
Everywhere I go, I see people with an iPhone, yet I haven't seen ONE person in real life with a Samsung Galaxy s2 and I have only seen one other person with a Samsung Galaxy s3 (my dad has one). Now obviously I know lots of people have these phones as well, but it is clearly evident that Apple's products are selling a LOT more than Samsung's if I'm almost all I'm seeing is iPhones and almost no Samsung smartphones. Whenever I bring my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to places, people ask me, "What is that?" "Is that the iPad?" Really? So so many people do not even recognize a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1! Wow! This clearly shows that Apple products are completely dominant over Samsung's when it comes to sales. Almost everyone can tell you what an iPad is, but very few people can tell you what a Samsung Galaxy Tab is. Now I will say this, it's not that bad with other android handsets because I've seen a few (~5) HTC's in real life, maybe a couple Motorola's. But I still have yet to see anyone with a Droid Razr, LG Spectrum, any of the Samsung Galaxy s2's, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, any other Nexus phone, or HTC One X. It's as if 95% of smartphone owners are iPhone owners.
My conclusion here is that actually a lot of people do not have a smartphone, to be more accurate, a lot of people have iPhones. I'm the only person I've seen with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in real life. I've never seen Samsung Galaxy s2's in real life and the s3 I've only seen for two people. Yet they say that Samsung is 2nd in the market. How can Samsung be second when I barely see people with Samsung phones? And why are Samsung phones not sold nearly as much as Apple's when Android offers a more customizable operating system and exhibits much of the same quality. In fact the s3 really beat the iPhone 4s. That's why an iPhone 5 is coming out. So that Apple has something to compete against the s3. I still think the s3 is slightly better than the 4s but only slightly. I can't give too much favor to the s3, because it's just my opinion that Android is better. But to give an unbiased comparison between the iPhone 5 and s3, the s3 is better just by a hareline. It has one extra feature. But other than that, they're pretty equal. Now the s3 is the iPhone 5's competitor. Yet when the iPhone 5 wasn't available, why were people still buying the 4s over the s3. I can understand not buying the s3 but buying the iPhone 5 because they like iOS more, but why would anyone want to buy the 4s over the s3.
Not true, I've had an iPod Touch 2, and I could have gotten the 4s if I wanted to, but didn't because I didn't want to.
A. Apple has the best products.
anyone who sez otherwise, doesnt have an apple product or cant afford one so they bash.
