Q. Going on deployment. Just looking for a tablet to watch movies and play games without spending an arm and a leg on it like the Ipad 2. What would you suggest? Will all the tablets only play mp4 movie formats?

Battery life - The unit is supposed to last 7-8 hours
Screen touch functionality - seems great.
Polaris Office - seem good for the tablet. Provides text editing, spreadsheet and presentations.
Sound - Quality seems ok, volume is poor. Count on using your earphones.
Can you get the same apps on the ipad as the ipod touch?
Q. I really want an ipad. I don't have an iphone or an ipod touch and I want to know if you can get the same apps on the ipad? Does it come with the same earphones as the iphone/itouch?
A. Most (read: 97%) of iPhone and iPod Touch applications will work in a "windowed mode" on an iPad. That means, it runs in the same iPad screen in a 320 x 480 resolution. You can hit a small 2x button in the corner. However, on some graphically intensive applications, such as Call of Duty, the pixels will appear larger in the 2x mode. Some applications, marked by a + icon next to the price in the app store, can work on both ipad and iphone in the different resolutions just fine. It does not come with the same headphones, but if I were you I would use the chance to get some very nice headphones. The only reason I haven't upgraded mine for my iPod is simply because the earbuds work good enough for me!
How can I fix my audio jack on my Imac computer?
Q. I recently put on bootcamp on my 2008 20inch Imac using Windows XP. On the Snow Leopard side- the audio jack works fine using earphones. But on the Windows XP side- the earphones don't work at all. I still hear sound from the computer directly.
When I plug in the earphones- the Imac acknowledges that something has been plugged in. I also did the Apple updates and boot camp updates. I didn't seem to help. I still don't hear any audio from the earphones and sound is still going from the Imac speakers.
