Q. My carrier is Sprint. I might want an iPhone, but maybe not. My phone right now, which is malfunctioning badly and needs replacement, is an HTC Evo Shift, which I love because it is a smart phone with a touch screen but also has a physical slide-out keyboard. They don't sell this phone anymore sadly.
Should I get an iPhone or another type of phone? I would really like an iPhone, but I'm not good with touch screen keyboards. But perhaps I could overcome that. What other types of Sprint smartphones would you suggest? By the way, I don't want the Samsung Galaxy S III. Thank you!
A. The 2 best smartphones worth getting are the iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy S3. Since you don't want the S3, you should get the iPhone. And don't worry, typing on a virtual keyboard is easy with a little practice. It predicts your spelling, so you only have to tap your fingers in the general area of the key and it'll predict it. It's hard to explain.

Q. I just bought my phone 3 days ago, and was about to return it(phone is really glitchy) when I accidentally dropped it in the toilet.
How can I tell if there has been water damage?
What color is the moisture sensor suppose to be?
Right now I have it sitting in rice, and I immediately pulled the battery out. Any suggestions on how to save my phone?

A. Don't take your phone apart to look for the water sensor, that will definitely defeat the chances of you getting a new one. Keep it in the rice for another few days just to be sure. If it works, great. If it doesn't work, water is not forgiving. It sounds like your phone was just a lemon, my Galaxy SIII is working flawlessly. If the phone still works, there's a possibility that you could get away with returning it and getting a new one, but I wouldn't count on it. Worse case scenario, if it doesn't work, there are a lot of those websites, like Gazelle, that will buy back water damaged phones.
