A. I don't know about the other two but don't get an htc, the whole format of it sucks and me and everyone I know has had lots of problems with them.

A. My Nexus 7 works great with a flash drive, an OTG cable and the Nexus Media Importer app.
You may have to get this app to make it work otherwise you have to 'root' your tablet to be able to mount a USB drive.

A. Depends on the mobile device and the company and plan you are with. I am with ATT and I have a htc windows 8 phone and it has a setting named internet sharing that makes a wifi hot spot. Sorry I missed read the original question here put this in a notepad dude and save it as a bat file
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid="anyname" key="anypassword" keyUsage=persistent
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
netsh wlan show hostednetwork
pause
name it start wifi and change "anyname" and "anypassword" to what you want them to be.
then when u wanna stop it heres a code for that too
netsh wlan stop hostednetwork
netsh wlan show hostednetwork
pause
yep that should do it and connect to the network with your phone.
