Should I buy the iPod touch 4th generation or wait for the 5th generation?

Q. I need a new iPod and want the touch, but if a new one is probably coming out this year, I can wait until next month or December. But if one is coming out next year, I will buy the 4th gen now.

What would be worth it? Is the next generation coming out this year?

A. Usually ipod touches come out every september per generation, iphones every june, and ipads every april, last june there was no iphone 5 yet and it's already september and still no pre production since Steve Jobs already retired from apple as the company's ceo and what happened about the japan disaster. But my dad said the iphone 5 is going to start pre production on october but not sure about it's real production, it's going to have the black color and white color as the iphone 4, it's now going to be for sprint and it's still for att like always and verizon don't know about metropcs or others but my aunt got her 3gs from t-mobile maybe she unlocked it and put t-mobile idk, probably adding 4g, plus a slightly faster processor and slightly better graphics, probably a revised camera and gps. The ipod touch 5 is going to have minor changes too like slightly faster processor and graphics, revised camera, and they're going to add the white color to the itouch 5 like the iphone 4 already did. They're rumors about a 3d screen for both and a keypad for the iphone 5 for texting, wdk yet if it's going to be true or a misconception but we'll see soon, but if u want the cool stuff get the itouch 5, but if u want to save money get the itouch but when the 5 comes out the 4 maybe will be discontinued or not but you can still get one from ebay like when the 2g came out, 1g was discontinued, when the 3g came out, they only kept the 8gb 2g until they discontinue the 3g when the 4g came out which I got last black friday after thanksgiving since I used to have a 3g nano which i gave to my 9 year old brother and still uses it including today, maybe they'll either discontinue the itouch 4 or just only keep the 8gb model like that of the 8gb 2g still in production when the 3g came out. Since the iphone 5 comes, iphone 4 will still be in production until the 6g come out like when the original iphone was still in production with the 3g until the 3gs came out and kept the 3g until the 4 came out and still kept the 3gs and wil discontinue it until the 5 comes out then it's iphone 4 still in production. Hopes this helps you, cheers.

To people who own a laptop that is more than 5 years old: how do you extend its lifespan?
Q. Just how do you do it? How do you make your laptops last longer?

A. Physically, all computers accumulate dust inside, around the fans and elsewhere, which can cause fans to fail, and insufficient circulation which may lead to heat damage to components or failure of the computer. So if that laptop has never been cleaned out, this would be a top priority. It can be accomplished to some extent by using a compressor or can of compressed air to blow air through the ventilation holes and elsewhere inside, which isn't easily accessible, but you can try shooting air into the vents where the air normally comes out, and down around the keypad, which is usually exposed to some extent.
Otherwise, it's worth learning how to open it up, which involves removing about a dozen small screws on the back and a few on the front hidden under rubber plugs. Sometimes you can find a manual online for a specific model laptop, but any general instruction information that you can find in a manual or on YouTube may be enough instruction for you to get the hang of it. After all, you're going to be doing this to every laptop or computer you will own, or you should if you are concerned about its longevity. Rule of Thumb: Don't lose the screws (use a magnet to keep them together), or lose track of which hole they came from or force anything apart, and you should be fine.
Techs usually use plastic tools to pry open laptops, iPads, etc., and you may find these in a local tools supply store. For example, our Harbor Freight store sells a few different sets. Otherwise, have a tech do it for you, at least once every couple years; more often if the environment where it is used most often is near heavy traffic, by doorways, windows or outside. You can guess this by the amount of dust that accumulates in the immediate area on furniture, etc.
Another necessary tool of any tech is a can of 'contact cleaner'. Do Not get any that says, "may damage plastic" on the can, or if it contains Acetone. It should Not be the industrial types that advertise that they can remove oil, etc.; it should be safe for electronic circuits.
Use it to spray electronic contacts such as where cables connect to circuit boards, in the slots for memory chips, video cards, etc., the contacts of sticky keys, and other areas in general to wash away contaminants (after you try compressed air). It evaporates very quickly leaving no residue, so you can douse any electronic device with it and not risk harming it. It can also penetrate the very small openings around switches, etc.
Ever had a scratchy volume control on a radio or a button on a keyboard that has stopped reacting properly? This gets rid of the contamination causing these problems and more. I've used it to rinse soda pop out of various devices since it's much safer than water.
And don't stop with your computer equipment -- every other electronic device around the house can also use some compressed air and contact cleaner, so get cleaning!
