Q. both my friend and i have tmobile. she has the samsung galaxy s3 and i have the samsung exhibit 2 (also a smart phone). when my friend turns off her data internet she can't receive/send picture messages, even if her wifi is turned on. she only gets the picture as soon as she turns her data back on.
i don't have a data plan, and even whether or not my wifi is on i can send/receive picture messages.
anyone have an answer as to why my phone can get picture messages without a data and my friends s3 can't?
o and my phone has data activation disabled, meaning if i were to accidentally go to the internet without wifi it wouldn't let me
A. All newer phones require data to send and receive MMS messages as a way to clear space on cell phone towers. Older phones can still use them, but newer devices can't. It also has to do with bigger pictures and video sending cluttering the towers up, which leads to less than optimum performance.
How to sync music to samsung galaxy exhibit 4g?
Q. I did the logical thing by using the usb cord sent with the phone to sync the music from my computer to my phone. However, when I do this my computer does not recognize it. What should I do?
A. Install the necessary drivers for your phone from Samsung's Kies. http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/
Once you are done, plug in your phone and it should recognize it. If not try a different computer and check it out there. If all goes wrong then it's probably the phone.
You should be set. I'd recommend synchronizing music with a program called Double Twist. It is sort of like itunes and it's more easier for the generic user. http://www.doubletwist.com
But you can always just copy and paste music to your device like a flash drive.
Best Wishes,
Dan

A. How to Turn Off Yahoo! Mobile Alerts
1. Log in to your Yahoo! mail account by entering your username and password at mail.yahoo.com.
2. Click your name in the upper left corner next to the Yahoo! Mail logo. A drop-down menu appears beneath your name.
3. Select "Accounts" from the drop-down menu. A new tab opens with your account dashboard.
4. Scroll down to the "Notifications and Subscriptions" section and click the "Set up Yahoo! Alerts" link.
5 .Click the "My Alerts" tab across the top under the Yahoo! Alerts logo.
6. Turn off only SMS alerts for an individual subscription, but keep the alerts on your other services such as email, Yahoo! Messenger and the Yahoo! iPhone apps, by clicking the "Edit" graphic next to the alert you want to change. Then, uncheck the box next to the "Mobile" field and click the orange "Save Alert" button in the lower right corner.
7. Turn off all Yahoo! alerts for an individual subscription by clicking the green "On" button next to the alert name, located under the "Status" column. This turns off not just your SMS alerts for the subscription, but also any alerts to your email, iPhone app and Messenger account, if you have set them up.
8. Turn off all Yahoo! alerts for all your subscriptions, including all SMS alerts, by clicking the "Off" link next to the "Turn All Alerts" section, located in the "My Alerts" tab under your list of subscription alerts.
