How do I get my iPad to print to my wireless printer?

Q. I have a iPad and a wireless printer which i hooked up to my wireless internet. However, when I searched for printers to print to on my iPad it came up with none. How can I get my iPad to recognize and pick up my wireless printers signal?

Thanks!

A. Printers need to receive the data in a format that they understand, and that usually requires specific drivers loaded onto computers in order to do that. However, HP has several printers that are made specifically to work with iPods & iPads.

Though you might have some other options. Check out the following links for some info that might work for you as one says you can also print using AirPrint to a non-wireless printer that is plugged into an Apple Airport Express via Ethernet.

Otherwise you'll have to get an AirPrint compatible printer:

You would need a compatible ePrint/AirPrint printer in order to do that. See this website:

Here is a list of compatible printers currently:
AirPrint-enabled printers
HP Envy e-All-in-One series (D410a)
HP Photosmart Plus e-AiO (B210a)
HP Photosmart Premium e-AiO (C310a)
HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-AiO (C410a)
HP Photosmart e-AiO (D110)
HP Photosmart eStation (C510)
HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf Multifunction Printer
HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fn Color Multifunction Printer
HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw Color Multifunction Printer
HP LaserJet Pro CP1525n Color Printer
HP LaserJet Pro CP1525nw Color Printer
HP Officejet 6500A e-AiO
HP Officejet 6500A Plus e-AiO

HP Officejet Pro 8500A e-AiO

Without one of those printers, you'll not be able to print like you want.

How has the iPad saved you money or time over a laptop?
Q. I would love to hear the benefits an iPad has other than just another cool techology that Apple has developed. So far I have not felt a 'need' to own one as it will be just be 'more stuff' I have to upgrade and maintain. How has it benefited YOU over what a laptop already provides?

A. I don't think it will save money it will actually encourage people to shed another 600 bucks for something that they never had needed.

But time is real factor for the success of iPad or you may say iPad is the first tablet or Netbook like device which is successful.
Many professionals are using iPad for their work. News, that a lawyer took out iPad for some reference, was floting around last month. 1 in every 4 doctors are either using or will be buying shortly
http://obamapacman.com/2010/02/epocrates-reports-1-in-4-doctors-likely-to-buy-apple-ipad-tablet-within-the-year/
It does save time to the extent that I prefer to do everything on iPad. My job require me to create word document ,presentation then upload to various WebDAV server like DropBox,Box.net.

I used to open one tab for each WebDAV server and then find the document by name after that upload one by one. In the mean time I also had to minimize and maximize the document many time.

On iPad ,it's piece of cake and even 4 years old kid can upload several documents in few seconds. Everything is set up, select all the files directly and hit upload button , you are done. And creating documents is super easy.

Since I got the iPad I have not used my MacBook Pro and Toshiba Satellite. I however have to use my Desktop iMac sometimes.

Recently I was watching MTV Movie Awards Live on iPad, my co worker tried to watch the same on PC , he was bombarded by Flash based ad banners and pop ups. He was not even annoyed with it because thats the way we all have using our devices.

But my iPad was running as if I am playing an original DVD. I love the fact that iPad doesn't support buggy flash. We then compared Netflix video quality on PC and iPad and found video quality on iPad was significantly better.

In a month I normally make 50 presentation out of which as many as 45 can easily be created on iPad and I do create on iPad. Only 5 are over complicated so I do on iMac or my office computer.

But the ones that I make on iPad look simply stunning and it takes way lesser time than any body would take to create the same presentation on PC.

iPad's battery is magical. I use iPad to extreme but still it lasts over 15 hours.By the time PC completes booting process I finish many task on iPad. It definitely saves time for me.

I have Xbox 360 and Wii but I hardly get time to play. Now I spare time to play on iPad. It's great fun.
Overall I am obsessed with iPad

Original Question

What is the difference between an iPad and an iPhone/iPod touch?
Q. To me, the iPad seems just like a giant iPod touch. How are they different? Does the iPad have different capabilities? I already have an iPod touch, so would it be a waste to get an iPad?

A. The iPod touch and iPhone are awesome, whereas the iPad is the spawn of evil and capitalism. If you already have an iPod touch, don't waste your money on an iPad. If you're going to spend that much for what is basically a laptop without flash bred with the iPod touch...you may as well get an actual laptop.

To answer your actual question, the major difference between the iPad and the touch (aside from size) is that you can create documents, charts, and presentations on the iPad...of course you have to pay to download the programs that allow you to do so, but that's apple for you. Granted, you'll have to pay for the equivelent of these programs too if you go for a laptop. Of course, with a laptop, you're far less likely to have to deal with your stupid contraption shutting off and losing all your work because it gets too hot. :|

Sooo....get a friggin laptop.
