Q. I am getting an Amazon kindle. I know it reads audio books aloud. Will it read them like a CD does with a real narrator's voice or with a computer voice?
A. There's actually two types of audio books Kindle will read.
They have Kindle eBooks with Text to Speech enabled. These are read with a computer voice. Then there are Audible audio books that the Kindle can do. These are essentially sound files and are usually narrated by a human being.
How is the kindle with audio books?
Q. Trying to figure if I should get a kindle or just keep using my laptop for audio books. Does it hold a lot? Download them fairly quick from amazon market?
A. You would be better off downloading audiobooks to your phone. It would be much more portable and easier to use. You can download the Kindle app to your phone if you want to download books in Kindle format.
Do I have to pay for a subscription in order to read audio books on my Kindle Fire?
Q. I just got a Kindle Fire, and I would like to buy some audio books, but the only ones I can find make you pay for a monthly membership. Is there not a way to just buy an individual audio book with no membership? If not, that is really weird... I also know that you can have a regular Kindle book read out to you by a computer-like voice, but I really want a real audio book.
A. It all depends on the source you have. I think there're different ways to get audio books, and some of those should be free. You should be able to buy individual audio books too. Amazon also has some audio books available on its store.
