A. they are different as far as i m aware ...but both of them are using same led technique and same led versions of lighting systems for screens and buttons.

Optimus sol:3.8 ultra amoled 0.26million colour,gorrila glass,1ghz cpu,9.2mm thin
Galaxy w:1.4ghz cpu,3.7 inch lcd 16.7 million colour,no gorilla glass,11.3mm thin
Both has 512mb ram ,andreno 205 gpu
AND PLS DONT SAY GET GALAXY OR OPTIMUS COZ YOU OWN GIVE A PROPER REASON,ALSO DONT SUGGEST OTHER PHONES.

frankly friend you should get the Samsung Galaxy W.
well, their specifications are pretty close but consider these:
>>Galaxy W has a 1.4GHz processor <> compared to 1 Ghz of Optimus Sol
>>while Galaxy W only has 3.7 inches display (and 16M colors), but its 252 ppi pixel density serves you better than 246 ppi pixel density of Optimus sol, although a tad bigger than SGW with 3.8 inches display (with only 256K colors)
>>while both of them has 512 MB RAM and 2 GB ROM...Optimus Sol was given only 150MB user-available memory, which means this is the only amount of memory space where you can install apps. Now consider Galaxy W (4GB internal memory, part of it will be used as 512MB RAM, 2GB ROM) where the rest of its memory can be utilized for app installations; and think of games!

Well, if your thinking of upgrading the OS to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich...this additional bump in the processor will do serve you further than that 1GHz of Optimus Sol; since Android ICS is bigger and heavier than Android Gingerbread.

(Compared to only a document viewer in Optimus Sol and no photo and video editing app; if you can live without them then cool but if you want them then you should be willing to shed more cash later for Optimus Sol OR you can get save yourself the hassle and GET YOURSELF A SAMSUNG GALAXY W i8150 :)

A. yes, its an android phone... just download your choice of hundreds of thousands of games from the android market
you need a data plan, or a wifi connection to use facebook or twitter
