Are there any Android phones in South Korea?
Q. I am going to be moving to South Korea within a few weeks but couldn't seem to find any information regarding Android handsets that are currently there. I've heard of the Samsung I7500 but nothing else. Does anyone know if there are any Google phones currently in South Korea, or when any will be coming out?
A. Yes, Samsung i7500 is an Android phone. With a launch of i7500, Samsung became the first company among the global top three mobile phone manufacturers to unveil an Android-powered phone.
There's one more Android phone from S. Korea. LG has finally launched a handset based on Android platform. The company was using Windows Mobile OS in most of its handsets but now with GW620 it will enter the Android market. Previously at the CommunicAsia, the company announced that they will be releasing three Android handsets soon. There were also some rumors that GW620 will be its first handset. Now with this announcement the rumors seem to be true.
The GW620 is fully QWERTY slider with a 3-inch touchscreen display. Although the company has not given the complete details, it is rumored that it will be a 3G phone and will feature a 5-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, USB and a 3.5mm headphone jack along with some preloaded Google apps.
You can see the pic of GW620 here :

And there's an Android phone which was expected to release in October is now pushed back to 2010. It's Samsung Galaxy i5700. The i5700 has got Wi-Fi certification but seems to be an older prototype, may come with a price tag of around 350 Euros. It is a simpler and cheaper adaptation of the Samsung Galaxy i7500.
In addition, it is added with the features â wireless modules Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, HSDPA, GPS-receiver, an FM radio, 200MB internal memory with microSD with an expansion slot (up to 32GB), accelerometer and 3.5mm audio jack, but the megapixel has come down from the original 5 megapixel to 3.2 megapixels to the autofocus camera and 4 GB of on-board storage (versus 8 GB).This smartphone is finished in the form-factor besklaviaturnogo monbloka with 3-inch AMOLED touch screen, based on the operating system, Android 1.5 and is in the hands of Cellularmania. We have to wait and see that the difference between the i5700 and the i7500 will be enough to make one significantly more reasonable than the other.
