A. You do not need to unlock the phone as you are still using the same carrier. You would unlock the phone only if you plan on jumping to another carrier.
Going from a prepaid to a postpaid plan can be done. You don't need to do anything except inform the carrier your intentions. Everything is handled through the SIM card and not the phone.

A. Samsung galaxy s iii is a LTE supported phone by default. But your service provider (carrier) should provide the LTE facility. Just ask your carrier for the service.
