Q. I am going to buy an Ipad 2 and I was wondering about screen protectors for it! Are they sold in normal stores like Walmart or do I have to order them online? how much do they cost? what is the best brand? the Cheapest brand? If you could help me out that would be great! Also, (optional) what apps should I download? haha thanks!
A. To get a screen protector, I would highly recommend getting a professional to do it. Because if you do it yourself, the better screen protectors are almost impossible to put on perfectly, they keep getting bubbles, and and "easy on" types aren't that great. invisibleSHIELD is a great company that has a lot of kiosks in malls and they can do it for you on the spot. In my mall I think there are 3 different companies that can do it (the other one is Ghost Armor or something, I forgot the rest).
You can always buy a screen protector (recommended invisibleSHIELD) at BestBuy or Target in a do-it-yourself kit. Actually, some jewelry stores will do it for free if you just give them your iPad and the screen protector you got and they'll put it on right on the spot. So many choices!!!
Will a screen protector for the new iPad reduce or impede the retina display quality?
Q. I preordered the new iPad, and I was considering getting a screen protector. Although, I started to wonder if the screen protector might reduce the screen quality. I love the new Retina display feature, and I don't want to buy something that will cause the quality to go down.
A. Not necessarily. It depends on the film. A thin transparent film should not effect the quality much though it might effect an effectiveness of touch. The problem with iPad 2 was the screen was so reflective many had to use matt films that blur image a bit.
[ I note that photographers face the same issue with UF filters on their lenses - and the most use them ]
It is my understanding that new iPad screens are not that reflective so matt films would not be that needed. I guess the best way is to try it. And in my experience not all films are the same.
Do the skinit ipad skins act as a screen protector?
Q. I have an ipad 2 and I have a screen protector on it, but I was wondering if the skinit ipad skins double as a screen protector. Thanks!
A. Hi Doodlez95! â Our skins do not act as a screen protector for our devices, but we do offer screen protectors that work hand-in-hand with our skins that you can purchase separately. Simply apply the screen protector, then put the skin on top of it. I hope that helps.
