Q. I'm going to get a Samsung Galaxy SII and was wondering what kind of case would be the best. Leather, silicon or a hard case - what's your opinion?
Thankyou :)
A. Get an Otterbox Defender Series.
Its by far, the best case available.
I had one on my Blackberry for over 3 years. When I finally got a new phone, I took off the case, & it looked brand new...
Can I use my Samsung tablet as a graphic tablet?
Q. Any nifty app and stylus pen that will make me able to draw just as well? I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and don't want to buy a graphic tablet unless I have to, but I would like to draw simple comics. The perfect solution would be if I could connect my laptop and samsung tablet to complete the drawing on my laptop, but in case I have to finish it on my samsung tablet and then upload online, so be it. Question is, is there a good app for that?
A. There is an app for almost anything. The hard part is finding it. I would search the app store with certain key words to see what kind of results you would get. Depending on what you are willing to spend will determine what kind of software you could get. Then again there is some really good freeware out there.
How can i make paint on my phone case stay?
Q. I really enjoy painting my phone cases (I have the Samsung Galaxy S3) But i always encounter the problem of it chipping, or when i attempted to use nail polish topcoat, it bubbled up then peeled off. I use acrylic paint to paint the case and I was wondering if Mod-Podge actually worked or if there are any other solutions. I've also tried home-made Mod-Podge, but that didn't work either :$
Thanks
A. Acrylic paint is a polymer (plastic). Since your phone case is plastic as well, adhesion will always be a problem. Acrylics have a hard time adhering to any nonporous surface. Most people think that clear coating it will seal the paint in. Not so much. If the bottom layer of paint isn't adhering to the surface, it's still going to chip and peel off.
Lucky for you, spray paints have come along way in recent years. You used to have to use adhesion promoters to get paint to stick to plastic. That's how they paint car bumpers. Now you can just go to any hardware store and pick up a can of plastics primer or paint for plastics. Using that as a basecoat will give you better adhesion.
Acrylic paint is still not going to adhere as well as something like an oil based enamel. Testor's model paint would work well. Get the oil based kind. If you don't mind spending a little money, look into 1-shot sign painters enamel. There is nothing better on the planet.
