Q. More specifically I'm trying to decide what I should get for Christmas, a white 16GB iPod Touch 4g or The Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 or 5.0.I cant decide becuase what one lacks, the other has. Its really hard for me to choose even though Ive seen comparisons & reviews on both.
Here's what I'm specifically looking for in a device:
-Something to go on the internet and get full HTML browsing and possibly flash compatabilities
-Something that can easily go on Facebook, Yahoo, and YouTub
-One that can play Temple Run, Angry Birds, and alot of fun games
-One with good accessories like cases and good compatability to head phones and plugs
-One that can easily get Spotify, Pandora, and download music easily
-One that wont break or crack if I drop it (im clumsy) or one that has really good, protective cases--One that wont seem really old, obsolete, or slow in a couple if years
I know that they both can do alot of the same things but I feel like one can do them better and Please please no answers like "ipod is gay, samsung all the way" or "android sucks bad, get apple you will be glad"
Thank you everybody :D!!
A. -Something to go on the internet and get full HTML browsing and possibly flash compatabilities
If you want flash- samsung player. Both have full html.
-Something that can easily go on Facebook, Yahoo, and YouTube
Both +- the same.
-One that can play Temple Run, Angry Birds, and alot of fun games
iPod's apps are better optimized, has more games, but the app store is so ugly and slow, it is pain to download something from here, really hate the app store slowlyness, design and overal performance. Most good games are paid or very limited (unless you buy features or whole game). Google play has ENOUGH games, trust me. But they are not as optimized (some games may load slowier, force close- but it is like 2 times out of 50).
-One with good accessories like cases and good compatability to head phones and plugs
iPod all the way. You wont have hard time finding accessories for it while you will have problems with galaxy.
-One that can easily get Spotify, Pandora, and download music easily
If you dont want to pay for music- galaxy 100proc. You can simply drag .mp3 from you pc. Also it has free music apps. You will need to pay for iPod's music, unless you jailbreak it. Both has pandora and spotify.
-One that wont break or crack if I drop it (im clumsy) or one that has really good, protective cases--One that wont seem really old, obsolete, or slow in a couple if years
iPod is 2010 technology. It is already old. Also if you wont jail it to case its alluminum back will get scrached a lot in few weeks. Galaxy is newier and more intresting device. Pobably ipod would crack faster, unless you buy a good PROTECTIVE case.
I'd say go and touch them. Buy one which feels better in your hands.
Do you think Samsung Galaxy S2 will get the upcoming android version(5.0 or w/e it will be)?
Q. Its getting ice cream sandwich,I know that. But do you think it will get anymore updates after that ?
A. Most probably it will get the upgrade simply because it is samsung's "most wanted phone" around and it's hardware too is pretty much better than any other model currently in their line up. Maybe the newer s2's like the skyrocket hd will only get the upgrade and not the "older" s2's. It's hard to tell though, simply because android upgrades are so unpredictable, like the hardware may be compatible but the manufacturer doesn't give the update like in the case of the sony xperia x10 or the hardware becomes old as it always does. I heard that the ICS is to be given only to dual core phones or something like that, so maybe the android 5 will only be for quad core phones......So only time will tell.
