Q. i'm currently a bell customer with a 3 year plan close to expiring. I have a free upgrade right now although the plan doesnt officially end until march. I want to resign with a better deal and get a new phone because my phone is sort of dated now and i have a few issues with it.
I would like to either get the new Sony z1 or the Nexus 5 when it is released but i'm not too sure if it will be beneficial to me if i resign on a 2 year contract NOW or wait until December when the new rules and regulations for the CRTC take effect.
What do you guys think?
If need be, i can survive with my phone for another month. I'm just hoping that if i can score a great plan now, dont wait until december when companies may not be willing to give up any more free services for a 2 year contract.

A. I hope that this answers gives you more information that will help you to make a final choice
Purely a UK answer re CRTC as it was NOT mentioned in my favourite film and answering your question re 02/12/2013 [coincidence or what] 30 Days of Night I have no idea
re Z1 despite being the latest Sony it adds in the main to the camera +7Mp and slightly improved processor. http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=5204&idPhone2=5596
So knowing the differences you are getting by opting for the Z1 over the Z will be an actual cost you will know now
Both the Z1 and Z have more Megapixel than the 8Mp Nexus 5 which comes preloaded with the latest Android software Kitkat 4.4 http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=5705&idPhone2=5596
From the specs BOTH Sony stay on Android 4.2 which is 2 shy of the 4.4
The relatively "old" Samsung Galaxy 3 is scheduled to receive the Android 4.3 putting it ahead of both Z & Z1?
So whilst both ZI & Z have the ability to run on 4.4 it IMO would be extremely odd and a PR disaster if both phone did not get KITKAT which is awesome especially phone security and both have a better processor than the SGS 3
What kind of sony xperia should i get?
Q. So i'm looking for a new phone and i am really opened to any kind of smartphone. However, i have come across the sony xperia line and really liked some of their designs. The problem is there are so many i don't know which one to choose. I prefer thinner, more tall than wide, not as big as a samsung 4s and sleek. I will use a lot of apps, so it needs to have enough memory , internet and a good camera. Please help, give helpful advice not just "sony xperia l because its so much better" thanks guys!!
A. The Z1 if you want a powerhouse and a 5 inch screen, however you said that you did not want one as big as the Galaxy S4 so, I would recommend the Sony Xperia ZR it is 720p hd instead of full 1080p but it has a 4.5 inch screen and it is still waterproof. However if you can live with something other than Sony, I would recommend the HTC One, or the Motorola Moto X. I hope I helpped...
Which smartphone and plan is best for me?
Q. I'm an 18 yr old college freshman and I've never owned a smartphone (*GASP* THE SHOCK, I KNOW!). Anyway, I'm looking into getting one... but there are so many styles/brands/plans to choose from I'm starting to get overwhelmed. I already know that I DO NOT want an iPhone; Apple is overrated in my book. I'm leaning towards a Samsung Galaxy s4 but, I'm not sure if I want a contract or no contract, and different places keep offering different prices; at the end of the day I just don't want to get ripped off. I'm looking for the most reasonable and affordable package. So I guess I want to know which plans offer the best deal...
A. it all depends on your usage. the absolute cheapest price i have seen is t-mobiles $30 pre-paid plan wich inludes 100 minutes, unlimited text and unlimited data. get yourself a cheap unlocked phone (lumia 521's are like $100 and pretty nice, or you can get the next nexus phone which should be around $350 hopefully) that is your best bet, or off contract phone overall pricing. if 100 minutes isn't enough, internet calling is an option and free.
on contract, you have a bunch of stuff to think about. AT&T and VZW have the best coverage, but both use capped data plans. if you are on wifi most of the time, this probably isn't a big deal. if you need unlimited data, something like T-mobile or Sprint are your best bets, but they are a little worse off on coverage (depending on where you are...college campus' should be covered by all pretty good though)
just check the coverage maps for where you are located.
as for phones, the top dogs are going to be the nexus 5 (should arrive in the next month or so) which should offer top end specs at a very affordable off contract price and is probably going to be compatable with every carrier other than verizon.
after that, the LG G2, HTC one, S4, Xperia Z1 for android.
then i would stick with Nokia phones for Windows phone if you are interested in that. the 1020 has a rediculous camera from what i have seen.
