Samsung Galaxy Tab OR Kindle FIre HD?

Q. Well, I'm going to buy one of these for me and one for my sister... I need help with all the tech specs and personal opinions as well.
thanks

A. Samsung Galaxy Tablet is much bette tablet. It runs a true android 4.0 operating system (Ice Cream) and it uses Google Play Store for its apps and software. With the Kindle Fire HD, it uses Amazon Store app and can not access any of Google app content. Also the Kindle Fire HD uses their own software which is a customized android with Amazon carousel desktop which you can not change on their tablet.

Original Question

so should i get a samsung galaxy tab plus or a kindle fire?
Q. is the samsung worth the extra 150

A. Hi Tim Coon, Galaxy is definitely much better than Kindle Fire, no questions about it - however it is much more expensive as you noted yourself. Very often reported problems with Kindle Fire are that it runs hot to touch, video playback is jerky, touch screen is not responsive and it takes 2-3 touches to register, power button placement is very poor and is prone to accidental power off, all the hype of Silk browser is not true where the browsing is actually slower than on other Android tablets, Wi-Fi connection gives a lot of trouble to users on it, etc.

Take a look at Nook Tablet as according to pro reviews on the web is a class above Kindle Fire in terms of hardware and performance. Per reviews out there, Nook has a much better screen and a much better/smoother performance while playing movies than choppy Kindle Fire's act. It has double the RAM and is much zippier than Fire in both booting times and loading apps. It has microSD slot (not on Kindle) for more content space (and you can have more than one card) and rooting without voiding the warranty. Also, Nook Tablet has physical volume controls on the side (not on Kindle) and built-in microphone (not on Kindle) for Skype. Nook Tablet has to offer the same things that Kindle has and more - It's got Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, Angry Brids etc., the best battery life (30% better than Fire), the best non-glare laminated screen (no lamination on Fire), double the RAM and space for apps/photos/movies than on Fire. Amazon Prime is worthless - 13,000 movies and 10,000 books are included while Netflix has millions of movies and B&N ebook store has more content than Amazon's with 2.5 million paid books and 2 million free public domain ones. Also it's worth mentioning that if you walk in with any Nook to Barnes & Noble store, you'll get tech support and youâre allowed to read ANY available eBook for free while in the store via free provided in the store Wi-Fi.

Also, if you're interested in digital newspapers or magazines there is a great current promotion announced in the news - until March, anyone who buys a one-year Nook subscription to the New York Times newspaper will receive either the Nook Simple Touch e-reader for $0 or the Nook Color e-reader for $99. The price of the Nook Tablet will be cut by $50 to $199 for those who buy it with a Nook subscription to People magazine.

Here's one pro review on the subject:
ENGADGET
Both devices rock 1GHz dual-core processors, but the Nook has an edge here, with its 1GB of RAM to the Fire's 512MB -- and certainly the difference is noticeable, even when booting up something as simple as a game like Angry Birds. Things are even more pronounced during video playback. We took Shutter Island for a spin via Netflix streaming on both devices, and it was really like night and day. Motion is far less choppy on the Barnes & Noble device. The HD playback on the Nook also picked up subtle imagery like patterns on ties, which were largely lost on the Fire

Also you might want to reconsider buying from Amazon at all if you learn about the working conditions they create at their warehouses (see link below).

Kindle fire vs. Samsung galaxy tab 2 8gb 7 inch?
Q. Hello i am thinking about purchasing one of the two tablets above and i just can't decide on which one. I want to know as much as possible about both of these two tabs. I have already done a lot of research about both and want them both a lot but i can only get one please help me!!!!!!!

A. They are both Android OS but the Kindle has a Skin on top of Android and doesn't have support for the Play store it just has the Amazon App store which does not have that many good apps. The Kindle is more of and Ereader than a Tablet so no camera for video chating you can't really customize the home screen. But if your getting manly for the Ereader portion I would defiantly get it over the Samsung Galaxy Tab. The Samsung is more of a full tablet that has the Full Play Store Two Camera's Fully Customizable home screen that you can put app and widgets on. Both have Full web browsers. It just depends on what you mainly need it for. Ereader with some other features Kindle or a Tablet like a laptop computer then the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
