Q.
A. The Galaxy S3 is currently running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean official firmware and there is no official word as to when the device will receive Android 4.2. Since the Galaxy S4 has just been released with Jelly Bean 4.2, Samsung will probably wait a little while as they iron out all the initial issues they may discover with the Galaxy S4 Jelly Bean 4.2 before they release an update for the older Galaxy S models (S3, S2 etc). Once the update is ready, it won't be a secret of course. Samsung will reveal the dates as they draw closer to releasing the 4.2 update. In any case, you'll get a notification via your S3 when 4.2 is ready to download and install just as they did with the 4.1.2 update (at least that's how I got my update).
Hope it helped.
When is Samsung going to unveil Galaxy S4?
Q. I love the features of the S3 but I don't like its plastic body. I hope Samsung rectifies this in S4. Any idea when Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S4?
I find the following as major drawbacks of S3 --
1. Plastic body
2. ICS operating system is old now. One has to manually upgrade it to Jelly Bean.
3. Camera isn't as good as that of iPhone 5.
4. It offers 1GB ram while Nexus 4 (much cheaper) offers 2GB ram and comes with almost identical processing power.
So, I hope S4 overcomes the drawbacks mentioned above.
A. The body can be fixed by using a hybrid metal/ Gel case. The nexus is also all plastic! T-mobile and Sprint have upgraded to Jelly bean. Verizon and ATT, by the end of this month. The S3 camera received an excellent update with Jelly Bean, utilizing all of its hardware( I have 4.2 photosphere installed). It may only have 1gb of ram, But the S3 has removable storage; which the Nexus doesn't. I'll gladly take 1GB less ram for the option of 64GB additional storage. The Nexus also doesn't have a removable battery. The Nexus has a sharper image, but the S3 is brighter and has a better contrast ratio. The Nexus also doesn't have LTE, and a lesser front facing camera. Each phone has its faults. Is the S3 case fragile? Yes, but I have it protected in an awesome case! anyways....No update on an S4..
If the case quality is your only problem not look at these two protective steel cases.

iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S3?
Q. Honestly, which one is better? I'm getting a new phone soon & I'm not so sure. I just want to know which is better & all that. Someone told me today that the iPhone 5 sucks, compared to the Galaxy S3, they said it's like taking $5(iPhone 5) next to $50(galaxy). So from anyone who has either of these phones which would you recomend?
Thanks!
A. Go with the iPhone. When someone sells an Android phone, it will usually be pretty worthless by the time the contract ends. When the iPhone 4 contract ends, you will be able to sell it for about double, maybe even triple, what the equivalent year's Android sells for. Not to mention, not every app is available for each Android. Every Android app has a list of compatible devices. If you get an iPhone 4, everything in the app store is compatible.
Just for the sake of example, let's say you got an iPhone 4 2 years ago when it first came out and also a Galaxy S when it first came out. If you sold the Galaxy right now, you wouldn't even get $100 for it. More like $60 or $70. I just sold an iPhone 4 two days ago for a bit over $270. That iPhone 4 paid for my upgrade to the iPhone 5. And not just the phone, but a case, tax, and the upgrade fee too. If I had a Galaxy, well, I could almost pay for the phone (I think the price of the SIII is $99 right now). iPhones keep their value better. Once you invest in the latest model, if you upgrade to the latest every other year, it's like you never have to invest in another phone again because it just keeps paying for itself.
The whole "iPhone can't use Flash" thing is a myth that is several years behind. Download the Photon browser from the App store and use that instead of Safari.
For another thing, let's say something goes wrong with your Android phone. Getting someone to help you will be like pulling teeth. Getting Apple support is easy. I think Android might have more apps these days, but since not every app is compatible with every Android, there's the question of what percentage of the apps in the store your specific phone can use. The iPhone can use 100% in its app store.
Also, software updates tend to come late to Android phones. But with iPhones, you know exactly when you are going to get your update because everyone gets the update at the exact same time.
Viruses. They have statistics online on what percentage of mobile viruses are on Android as opposed to iOS, Windows, and Blackberry combined. I don't remember the specific values, and even if I did, I read them last year, but I remember Android definitely had the vast majority. On a similar note, I recommend this reading:

To sum it up, there are loads of viruses and antimalware apps aren't doing so hot over all at stopping them. This isn't a problem that is prevalent in iOS at all.
Loads of people say you can't customize an iPhone, but those people should definitely see my sister's iPhone. I don't know how she managed it without jailbreaking, but she has the pinkest, most sickeningly-sweet layout on her phone I've ever seen. Like everything is pink and covered in flowers and all that lol. It's definitely customizable.
