Q. which one should i get
i know the differences btw
A. Here is every difference between the 4.0 and 5.0 models that I am aware of:
DISPLAY: 4.0=Super TFT "SuperClear" LCD (more energy efficient) ; 5.0=TFT LCD
BACK PLATE: 4.0=removable ; 5.0=sealed
BATTERY: 4.0=removable 1,200mAh Li-ion ; 5.0=sealed 2,500mAh Li-poly
LED CAMERA FLASH: 4.0=no ; 5.0=yes
EARPHONE JACK: 4.0=on top ; 5.0=on bottom
microUSB: 4.0=on top (sliding slot cover) ; 5.0=on bottom (no sliding slot cover)
microSD SLOT: 4.0=(behind back plate); 5.0=on top (swing-out slot cover)
VOLUME ROCKER: 4.0=left side ; 5.0=right side
I have heard that the 5.0âs haptic (i.e. vibration) feedback options are more limited than the 4.0âs. I own the 4.0, but not the 5.0 (yet). My local Fry's electronics store has both on display, so I will have to investigate the haptic feedback rumor.
You can see illustrations showing many of these differences in the PDF user manual on Samsung's site.

Android 4.0 (ics) on galaxy player?
Q. Will my Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 be able to run Android ICS, if i were to install it on the device myself?
A. I have Samsung Galaxy 5.0 player and i hope it gets ICS in the future.
the Samsung Galaxy s and the s2 will not be getting ICS. so im thinking the Samsung Galaxy 4.0. would not get it. but it only came out in october.
you could always root it and use the ICS roms. but i would rather wait for Samsung or wait for my warranty to expire before i root.
Should I get the ipod touch 5 or Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0?
Q. Well, I know that the newest ipod just came out, and it's supposed to have improved and amazing features. But I'm also considering the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0, because it's supposedly better. Internet, apps, music, youtube, camera, and movies are infinitely important to me Also, is flash not on the ipod? What does this limit me to? Thanks.
A. Dimensions and weight
Apple iPod touch is largely smaller than its Samsung competitor. The Apple product rocks the dimensions of 110 x 58 x 7.1 mm and a weight of just 101 grams. On contrast, Galaxy Player 5.0 has the dimensions of 141.3 x 78.2 x 11.9 mm and it weighs at a hefty 182 grams.
Winner: Apple iPod touch.
Display
As its moniker reveals, Galaxy Player 5 features a 5-inch display at a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. It is a WVGA TFT LCD that provides better clarity and performance. On the other hand, iPod touch has the same 3.5-inch display of iPhone. As the former Apple CEO Steve Jobs said iPod touch is indeed an âiPhone without contract.â Its display is an aluminosilicate glass-covered LED-backlit LCD with a resolution of 960 x 640 pixels at 326ppi.
Winner: Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0.
Software
Galaxy Player 5.0 is to play on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It is when Apple has just updated iPod touch with iOS 5, the game changing version of the software. Of course, iOS 5 has more stunning features than Gingerbread. In fact, Androidâs reply to iOS 5 is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, not Gingerbread.
Winner: Apple iPod touch.
Storage
Galaxy Player 5.0 has only two internal memory options; 8GB and 16GB. Meanwhile, the new generation iPod touch comes with three options; 8GB, 32GB and 64GB. Moreover, iPod touch has iCloud cloud computing integration for additional storage.
Winner: Apple iPod touch.
Camera
Apple has slotted in a 0.7-inch rear camera on iPod touch. It can record video at 1280 x 720 up to 30 frames/s and audio. A 0.3-inch VGA camera is there in the front panel of the device. Samsung Player 5 sports a 3.2-megapixcel camera in the front. However, the device drops a front facing camera for video calls. In difference, iPod touch with FaceTime application will be a better choice for users.
Winner: Apple iPod touch.
Battery life
Battery life of a portable musical device is highly important. People often want to listen to music for long hours. Here Galaxy Player 5.0 outshines iPod touch with Li-Ion 2500mAh that ensures 60 hours audio playback and 8 hours video playback. Apple iPod touch has a Lithium-ion battery that offers only 40 hours audio playback and 7 hours video playback.
Winner: Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0.
Winner
The winner of the comparison is visibly clear. Apple iPod touch is far better than its Samsung competitor under several parameters. A music lover, who doesnât obsessively worship Android, may go for iPod touch for better music experience.
The verdict
Samsung has been creating hypes about its Android music player for a while. The device has now realized with lots of features. We have an Android challenger to iPod touch now. Appleâs domination in portable music industry may be hit with Galaxy Player 5.0âs arrival. Of course, a large part of music lovers will go for Galaxy Player 5.0 instead of iPod touch now.
