Yeah, I just realized that there were two versions of the Epic. I thought it was just gonna be one phone that can do both CDMA and GSM, but thanks for the answers guys!
A. Metro uses CDMA so an unlocked Galaxy S2 would do you no good because it is a GSM device.
The Sprint Galaxy S2 (CDMA) does not have a SIM card so it cannot be unlocked but it may be possible to have it flashed for use on Metro.

A. It is possible but only if you have that specific application on your cell phone. You can download such programs from the web. (which may not be possible in China) Some are free. Whether or not you can with your phone depends on which version of the Samsung Galaxy II you have. There are at least a dozen different ones with different features. Sorry I could not be more specific. You would have to go to a phone store that has someone with experience with your version to find out.

Q. How are you supposed to open the battery compartment of the samsung galaxy s II without breaking it, which feels like what I might do every time I try. The pictorial so-called instructions on how to do so are useless, not clear at all on what I should be doing.
A. the bateery compartment can be opned by pulling the door from the bottom of ur mobile,with ur nails it ,there is notch at the bottom of the phonein which u put ur nails and pull off vertically the door apply a littile bit of preaasure and ur door opnes ,the samsung phone door do open by sliding as nokia
