Q. A screen popped up on my kindle touch and it said 'Your kindle software is updating. This can take a few minutes. DO NOT turn your kindle off during the update process. Your kindle will automatically restart as soon as the update is complete.' So I waited for 4 hours, and I checked, and it was the same screen. I cant turn it off, or go to a different page, but i can charge it. WHAT DO I DO?
A. Press and hold the off button for about 20 seconds.

Where do you get the bin files from?
A. Not automatically no. Most tablets can be reflashed but getting an appropriate binary is the biggest problem, try the wrong one and you could brick it.
Usually you copy the bin files to an SD card and then reboot the system, it will detect the upgrade and automatically reload itself.
EDIT - SIMPLIFICATION
you can download the android source code and recompile it to create your own binaries to flash your device, however a lot of the tablet support sites will have prebuild bin files for specific models of tablet, slatedroid are pretty good.

Q. All the new kindle fires are getting an updated system, but will the original fire get an updated UI? From the looks of it on their website, it looks a lot nicer than the one they currently have. Will they updated or is the processor not big enough?
A. Up to now, it's no. There isn't any update for Kindle Fire UI yet. There's a discussion on Amazon about this here:
