Q. so are there any applications that allow you to make a video call on a samsung galaxy s vibrant? Also how does that work? There seems to be this thing on the front of the phone to the right of the tmobile logo that looks like a camera. Its not specified what it is in the product manual.
I'm hoping that there is a way to configure this camera (if it is a camera) to work for skype mobile.
A. Hiya! I have a Vibrant as well, and also work for the company. :-) The little thing next to your speaker is a sensor for the touch screen. There ARE applications that you can download for a video chat that use your camera, but of course you cant see the person because it has no front facing camera! So, good news is that you can use it, bad news is that it works a little weird. Hope that helps!

Does My Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant have a FFC?
Q. I just bought the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant from T-Mobile. I know some versions of the phone do have a front facing camera, and some don't. Mine has two little circles in the top left corner of the screen which looks like one of them can be a camera.
How can I tell? I can't figure it out. Please help.
A. They are not camera's, the one on the left is the "Proximity Sensor", and the one on the right is the "Light Sensor". If you noticed when your talking on the phone and you move the phone away from your face, the screen will turn on, and when you put it back to your face, it will turn off. And the light sensor, will automatically adjust the screen brightness to conserve energy according to your battery settings if you have set it to Automatic.
Now your thinking, crap I thought I had a video calling phone!, well guess what? you do. The camera on the back may not see your face, but it still does video calling with Tango, and ooVoo.
How do I know all this? I own a Samsung Galaxy S, I hope I answered your question :)
Is the blackberry curve 8530 for virgin mobile good?
Q. I have a samsung galaxy vibrant right now for tmobile but i have to go prepaid now. So is the bb curve good? Also is it easy to get used to?
A. There are currently nine versions of the BlackBerry Curve 8530 for sale in the US. But the ones offered by Cricket, MetroPCS and Virgin Mobile demand special scrutiny. All three carriers sell this smartphone for a very low monthly rate, with no contract. Virgin's plans are a little more expensive than Metro's and Cricket's, but Virgin's network is both 3G (which Metro isn't) and available nationwide (which Cricket isn't). This is the only smartphone available for Virgin Mobile right now, and combined with the plans we think it's a very good buy.
