Q. Just wanted to know because I'm planning on getting an iPhone. My Android sucks already!
A. Oh android definately. Better apps are free rather than not free on itunes. android allows free music and movies (if you know what you are doing) and has swype ( a faster and better text). Iphone is too simple and doesnt allow for enough customization or control. Sure, the iphone is easy to use and may have some better apps and more, but android is the best bet. Android is also growing rapidly and is passing apple due to Steve Jobs passing and everything else that has gone wrong at HQ.
Android is just a smarter software overall!
Remember, Androids can eat apples...;D
What is the main/best place for music and video on android?
Q. like what is the "itunes" for android
A. Android does not really have an iTunes. There are a number of apps and resources available to you to get music for your device.
Google Music Service: http://andgeeks.com/google-android/applications/google-music-service-will-be-boon-to-android-users-881740/
Mogs Android App: http://andgeeks.com/google-android/applications/mogs-android-app-presents-quality-subscription-music-option-881827/
Streaming Radio: http://andgeeks.com/google-android/applications/rdio-on-the-right-track-with-cloud-based-music-app-881813/
Sync songs you already have using Double Twist:http://andgeeks.com/google-android/applications/doubletwist-gives-android-a-media-syncing-option-882427/
The best bet however is probably ThumbPlay:

Can one program on Android?
Q. I'm thinking of getting an android equipped phone or MID soon, and I've seen much talk about rooting the device. Unfortunately when I google 'programming on android' I'm only directed to 'programming /for/ android' What I would like to do is have the capability of actually creating small scripts / programs on the device itself. Would Android have support for Python or Ruby? Could I simply program in Java on it?
EDIT: I suppose I should expand -- I'm a maths student and sometimes I just need to write a small script to output some number theoretic computations. Something along the lines of less than 30 lines. I don't currently have a laptop and really don't have a budget for one, however something like and MID I can probably afford.
A. Android requires Java as the primary development language. And you do indeed program for Android instead of on Android. Android is an operating system and operating systems are not programmed on, but they are programmed for. I don't know if Python and Ruby are supported on Android, but Java is the primary development language for a reason. Java is more powerful than both Python and Ruby combined in terms of legitimate programming and software development. Python and Ruby are more for web scripts instead of software applications.
