A. No, you won't need a data plan if you have WiFi at home - just be sure to switch off cellular data in the phone's configuration, otherwise the first bill could give you a nasty shock.
And no, you don't _need_ WiFi for internet access if you have a data plan - but WiFi is usually quite a bit faster than cellular data, so the phone uses WiFi when available and switches to cellular data if no accessible WiFi node is in reach. (unless you've deactivated one or the other in the phone's settings).

A. Since you don't have a data plan, my advice would be to not use the internet except if you are connecting through WiFi, If you connect to the internet without a plan and without a WiFi, you would be paying your phone service provider at a rate of almost S$1/min. Hence, it does not make sense to do so.

A. SMS and phone numbers will share internal phone memory. Internal phone memory is 160MB.
