Q. I really want an ipad. I don't have an iphone or an ipod touch and I want to know if you can get the same apps on the ipad? Does it come with the same earphones as the iphone/itouch?
A. Most (read: 97%) of iPhone and iPod Touch applications will work in a "windowed mode" on an iPad. That means, it runs in the same iPad screen in a 320 x 480 resolution. You can hit a small 2x button in the corner. However, on some graphically intensive applications, such as Call of Duty, the pixels will appear larger in the 2x mode. Some applications, marked by a + icon next to the price in the app store, can work on both ipad and iphone in the different resolutions just fine. It does not come with the same headphones, but if I were you I would use the chance to get some very nice headphones. The only reason I haven't upgraded mine for my iPod is simply because the earbuds work good enough for me!
Which non apple tablet is the best for taking notes on by typing?
Q. I'm a college student, and i am interested in purchasing a tablet. One of the main reasons is to eliminate the need for pencil and paper. I would like one that is as modern as possible, that is capable of quick response typing. Much like the iPad 2 which most people are using to take notes. But I cannot afford to spend $700 on that. So what other tablets can compare to the typing capabilities of the iPad?
A. ASUS SL101-A1-BR 10.1-Inch 16GB Tablet.Screen - perfect for a ten inch format.
Battery life - The unit is supposed to last 7-8 hours
Screen touch functionality - seems great.
Polaris Office - seem good for the tablet. Provides text editing, spreadsheet and presentations.
Sound - Quality seems ok, volume is poor. Count on using your earphones.
Does the ipad require a certain type of earphones?
Q. I have tried to put in earphones or earplugs :P and they wont go in. Do i need an Apple brand or something? I hope this is a yes because a no would mean it broken :(

Ipad 2 or a laptop only for entertainment?
Q. I am going to a highschool that gives you a new lenovo thinkpad. It's always that years newest version. The problem is they take it over the summer to install new versions of everything and you can really only use it to do schoolwork. So my question is should I get the ipad 2 sheerly for entertainment and not work or a laptop for the same price only for entertainment. I know laptops are better for work but I wownt be doing work on it.
A. For gaming, music, and movies, I would get the iPad. Gaming is fun on it because it's a touch screen and for some games tilting is part of playing. It's like an iPod too, so you can have your music on there as well and just plug in your earphones. You can get netflix and some other movie apps on iPad, and then just use a smart cover or another case/stand to prop it up by your bed or something.
The iPad would be better since it's not for work.
