Q. www.iskin.com/samsung/galaxy/aura/
I love the look of that case in pebble blue because it matches the phone and looks very sharp. The only problem is that it doesn't offer much protection.
Are there any cases that look great and protect your phone from normal use? Not as much protection as an otterbox defender, but enough to protect it from a short fall if I accidentally drop it.
A. Yeah, here are a bunch from Case-Mate. http://www.zazzle.com/samsunggalaxy+s3+cases?rf=238492371037518519
Case for Samsung Galaxy S3?
Q. Im looking for a case that offers really good protection like the otterboxes but one that I can also customize a little bit. Is there anything out there like that? If I have to wait a while thats fine.
A. The otterbox defender doesn't come out until the 5th of August. I would reccomend the cruzer lite, it's a super cool and popular case for the S3.
Galaxy S3 vs. iPhone 5?
Q. So I know this is a common argument but I wanted to put a question out with my specific wants and needs. Speed and a great OS are a must. I've seen countless comparison reviews and videos but I just cant seem to make a descion. Its come down to a few main points. First of all, the iPhone 5 seems to be faster (With the voice assistant and other operations), but the GS3 is more feature-rich. I love to customize, hack, and tweak all my devices to the way I want them to be, as any other techie would tell you. Thats where the GS3 would win, as everyone knows that Apple products are great and all, but they are utterly locked up and you just can't customize them and write your own scripts like you can on the GS3. But again it comes to speed. The speed of the processor, graphics, and data are important to me as I can be pretty obsessed when one of my devices are running slow. I just cant get over how snappy the iPhone 5 is. Of course, iOS6 has been tailored to the iPhone 5, and Jellybean hasn't quite made it to the GS3. If that would even change anything, I wouldn't know. Any articles, videos, or even personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Also, I would be using an otterbox defender series case with whichever phone I would buy.
Thanks in advance,
Mike Rivoln
A. The speed between the two is pretty much the same, I saw a utube video on the weekend that compared them by operation. Some things were faster for one and some for the other. Overall the speed was equal.
Regarding the voice assistant apple puts it on by default but you can download the android counterpart from the marketplace for free on for the S3. Actually the apple version is the only one apple has, its called Siri and android has several to choose from. One is called Iris but there are others you may prefer, they all work pretty much the same.
You already know about all the apple restrictions but the big one that may affect you with videos is apple will not allow flash player applications. They just took utube off of the IPhone 5 so if you want it you have to download it.
The apple maps such which is why they just put an apology out and made it possible for its users to download google maps again.
Also one big advantage the S3 has over the apple is it has expandable memory, simply buy a memory chip and slide it in. To get more memory on an apple you need to buy a new phone.
The Iphone just got 4g the Samsung phones have had it for the last few models so it's more stable.
My husband has an Iphone and I have a Samsung. When he can't get any signal I can.
Hope this helps you decide.
