Q. Hi!
My mom wants me to have an easy communication device, so she's going to buy me a cellphone with a plan. Problem: I live in Canada, not USA. Specifically, I live in the French Province, Québec.
Changing countries blocks the cellphone and I want to know how to unlock/activate it in Canada so it can work (make calls, send messages, etc). The cellphone is the Samsung Galaxy II Epic 4G Touch because almost all family owns one.
A. The smart thing would be to purchase a cell phone in Canada.
However, if you contact the cell phone provider from which she purchased the service, they can usually set you up with an international plan and it will work. I did this for my boss when he was in Columbia.
Will a 4g phone work on 3g Service?
Q. I am planning on buying the Samsung Galaxy S 4g(T-mobile). Its 4g and not unlocked so I want to know if it will work with At&t's 3g service, and if i will get charged a fee since its not unlocked.
A. It will not work with AT&T unless it's unlocked. AT&T will not unlock the phone. The phone probably can only access AT&T's Edge network.
Can i buy a phone with no contract changes in US and use it in China?? I thank it is not unlocked?
Q. I want to buy Samsung Galaxy S II 4G Android Phone (AT&Tor other types of network) in USA ,it is with no no contract changes, does is mean I can use it in other SIM or can I use it in China ?? If not how can I use it in China?? And what kind type of network does the phone use ?? I want to use GSM and WCDMA in China.
Thank you !
A. The Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket (4G) supports botth: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and WCDMA 850 / 1900 / 2100
No contract stands for that the phone you buy doesn't require singing up for 2 year plan with service provider.
To use it in China you must to buy an unlocked phone, which means that the phone can be use with different GSM service providers. In that case you need to only slip in your active SIM card to activate the phone.
