Q. I play metal/rock usually but I may want to play some occasional jazz. Would I need a certain type of guitar?
A. The guitar is pretty much the same. You might have a challenge getting the right sound out of your amp though. I use an AmpKit Link and/or iRig with my iPad to tailor sounds. Any other good modeling amp can do he same though. You just have to smooth the sound and get more mellow.
Good luck. It shouldn't be too difficult.
What is the best app for learning guitar?
Q. for iPod or iPad. Free or not.
A. I taught myself guitar but not from an app. I started playing VERY easy songs that were just open chords, then moved to bar chords, then to simple riffs Iike the stairway to heaven intro. There is no App that will teach you guitar, you either need to be very self motivated or have an instructor. On my iPhone i have a app called GuitarToolKit that is AMAZING. I bought it for 10 dollars and it has every scale and chord in existence. It also has a guitar tuner and metronome. My favorite feature is that if you play a chord but don't know what it is, you can enter it and it tells you exactly what it is. Please note that this app will not teach you how to actually play guitar, but teach you theory. The ONLY way to learn though is a lifetime of practice. You never stop learning guitar, you can ask anyone who plays.
what is the song on the apple ipad commercial?
