Would this be expensive?

Q. So as we all know, it is Christmas time. My ipod doesn't exactly cover my day to day needs(Do research in school, listen to music, play games(my school has a bring your own device rule so my teachers let us to this)) to I am considering asking for a Samsung Galaxy Stellar. It is free on Verizon with a ten dollars a month data plan, which I could pay for with my allowance. Please don't say that I don't need one because I do. This is what I have day to day:
-Swim practice five days a week
-National Junior Honor Society and Raritan Club meeting once a month(often right after each other so I have to stay really late)
-I take Spanish, and a flashcard app would really help
-I have USA Swimming meets once a month-besides the entertainment I could also access the heat sheet and my times
The reason I am doing this is because that over the summer my battery fried, and my ipod is breakig anyway, so i think a smarphone would be useful for me.Thank you, and please answer.

A. yeah i think a smartphone will be perfect 4 u

Original Question

How to use less data on Android (Gingerbread)?
Q. I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace on Gingerbread. I am changing my plan to a plan that includes 200MB of data each month. I am junior at highschool, so I am mainly at home, at school, or at some other location. At home, I have WiFi, so I am set. In highschool however, our school's WiFi is a bit strange and doesn't work very well, so I won't be using their WiFi but using my data. Then obviously at some other location, I will attempt to use WiFi when available.

I will not be streaming videos or downloading anything with my data. Most of my data usage will be social networking (Facebook, twitter, tumblr), web browsing, and photo uploading (Instagram, etc.) Will 200mb be enough?

Also, what are some tips on how to use less data on Android devices? I heard people said to use Opera as a browser because it compresses the data. What other tips are there? Thanks.

A. Its enough but I would get a lil more like 2GB just in case you need to download something

Original Question

Someone who knows phones needed!?
Q. I have Tmobile. Im 15 and Im very busy. I dont really text that much, I mostly use my phone to call my parents or sister, keep up with updates from my varsity dance team, theater company, FFA, & band, and internet. I get bored a lot, and I use the internet a lot. I have unlimited internet, or if I dont, Ive never gone over and im always on so thats not a worry. Also, a good camera. And a hotspot would be nice, but deff not a neccesity if none have one.

Galaxy Note 2 (I love big touchscreen phones, but my last upgrade (2 yrs ago) I got the htc hd2 and it was a huge disapointment, it cracked and froze on one thing and to this day its still frozen and tmobile wouldnt replace it, I dont want to be disapointed again.) http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/Phones/cell-phone-detail.aspx?cell-phone=Samsung-Galaxy-Note-II-Titanium-Gray

iphone 4s: All my friends have iphones, but they all have AT&T/Version and its easier to get. Id have to get it unlocked etc and they use it WAY less that I would (internet and camera wise) and its always dead and I dont want to get into the whole "I need the new iphone" craze.

Sidekick 4G (I dont knoe how I feel about a small screen and a less updated version of android.) http://reviews.cnet.com/smartphones/t-mobile-sidekick-4g/4505-6452_7-34542951.html

A. I agree with junior. I am from the UK on a Hutchinson 3g (trading a 3uk) contract on the Samsung galaxy s3. It is a really reliable phone, I have, in anger may I add, thrown it a lot and even dropped it in my bathtub and it is working complete normal.
