Q. If I insert my AT&T sim card into the Samsung galaxy, will i be able to make calls, send texts, etc from my number? My phone is broken and I really want a tablet, so i figured this would be a good compromise.
A. No the samsung Galaxy Tab is not a cell phone. You can't make and receive calls on this device. However thare are apps that will make the device receive and make calls such as Google Voice, Textfree that will give you a phone number so you can use this tablet to make calls.
From what I notice the Samsung Galaxy Tab is only available for Verizon and Sprint. Both Verizon and Sprint use CDMA network and does not use any sim card. So on the Galaxy Tab, it does not have a sim card holder inside. So with A T&T you need GSM network and a sim card. So The Samsung Galaxy Tab will not be work with your sim card.

Can a unlocked Tmobile samsung galaxy s2 enables tethering & hotspot?
Q. Can a unlocked Tmobile samsung galaxy s2 enables tethering & hotspot without any extra charges?
Because I know that tmobile restricts tethering & hotspot unless you add the plan.
Or is it only capable through rooting the phone?

--------only if its rooted too... rooting bypasses the Tmobile's and Samsung's lock on the Wired and Wireless hotspot Tethering. The only thing "unlocking" does is free up the GSM so any SIM card can work in the phone. "Unlocking" has nothing to do with hardware/software locks.

------- so does all carriers on planet Earth

------ yep... see answer #1
If I buy an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S II, would I be able to flash it to MetroPCS?
Q. I'd like to buy an UNLOCKED Samsung Galaxy S II, and I would like to know if I could put it on MetroPCS or SimpleMobile. Thanks!
Yeah, I just realized that there were two versions of the Epic. I thought it was just gonna be one phone that can do both CDMA and GSM, but thanks for the answers guys!
A. Metro uses CDMA so an unlocked Galaxy S2 would do you no good because it is a GSM device.
The Sprint Galaxy S2 (CDMA) does not have a SIM card so it cannot be unlocked but it may be possible to have it flashed for use on Metro.
