does using an unlocked samsung galaxy s3 on a different carrier still have 3/4g?

Q. I am planning to buy and unlock a samsung galaxy s3 in the US to bring back to belgium/switzerland to use. I saw a forum saying that to unlock a s3 and use on a different carrier, you would only receive an edge connection. IS that true?
I've also check and most carriers in europe uses a bandwidth of 900 and 1800 which is the same as most US carriers

A. depends on what carrier you'd be using but it can work

How to unlock a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 to move it to T-mobile?
Q. Hi I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 from Verizon and am under a 2 year contract. I am looking to terminate the contract to move to Tmobile monthly 4g. I know you can put a tmobile sim card in your phone if it is unlocked, but I do not know how to unlock it. Does anyone know how?

Thanks!

A. You would have to call Verizon to unlock it, and they will only do that when the contract is complete and paid in full.

Original Question

If you purchase an unlocked samsung galaxy s3 phone, will it work for the service provider cellular one?
Q. I have a contract phone with CellularOne and I want to purchase a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone on Ebay because it is cheaper than the store price. If it is unlocked, will it work for web access, etc..?

A. Of course. There should not be a problem with purchasing an unlocked phone. It is just a matter of buying a GSM sim card from the provider and using this. Good for you with getting a cheaper phone.
