A. Start the Kindle. From the Home screen, press Menu. Select Settings. Press Menu again. Select Reset to Factory Defaults. It will reboot. She'll have to input her username and password again, but it should be completely like new.

A. I got one of the Amazon kindle cases and I have to say that I like it quite a bit.
I wouldn't suggest dropping it but I think it would fair pretty well.
