Q. I want to know the price of the samsung glalaxy II epic 4g touch.jus the black one.Not the one with a new design just the black one.thank you very much
A. I just got mine today, the plain black. I had a 100 dollar discount because of some credit thingy in my account and still I had to pay about 150.00, plus a phone case so like 100$ total, but you get a mail and rebait and they give you back 100$ dollars through the mall, but you have to call and remind them or they won't. It's an amazing phone. (:
Can I get stock Jelly Bean on Epic 4G Touch?
Q. I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy S2, Epic 4G and I was wondering if I could get stock Jellybean on it. I was also wondering were I could get the ROM and if there were any other guides on it.
A. The answer is yes, it's actually pretty easy. Now the tricky question is what version do you want, for example there's fk23 and there is also a newer one which is ga10. I recommend the fk23 because the agat custom recovery for fk23 works flawlessly unlike the agat custom recovery for ga-10 which is buggy (I was unable to install certain apps). Also do you want it rooted or not rooted? I'll assume that you will want root though cause you are currently rooted. Here is a video of how to get the fk23 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9XEll85CEk There should be a way to get either the rooted or unrooted version of jellybean from the links provided there, however, you can always use an app called android root toolkit that will allow you to keep and restore your root on any new rom you have on your phone.
I sum this up to you the easiest way can.
Key things to know/do before you flash a new rom.
1. Check and see if the rom is compatible for your device. (is it for sph-710) in your case. remember there are different versions of the galaxy s2 phones. Sometimes knowing your baseband and version is important to you know if the rom is compatible or not example fk23, fi27, fl18, etc ( this is especially import when flashing a custom recovery) For example, fk23 will work with agat 23
2.Make sure you have the correct driver on your computer, to ensure this if you haven't already download samsung kies: http://en.kioskea.net/download/download-16195-samsung-kies
It doesn't matter where it is located on the computer, as long as its there
3. know how to go into download mode, power and volume down at the same time while booting your device, let go of it when you see samsung title. (you can also install a rom with a custom recovery)
4. Download Odin, now there are different forms of odin, but there are basically two types, one that has dropdown boxes and one that has nothing but start. Usually when flashing a stock rom it will say something like fk23 at the top and you just it start while your phone is in download mode.. Make sure you have your usb plugged in and that you see a 0:[Com3] in a yellow box ( this lets you know that you are ready for flashing) Important: make sure you have the right odin if it just has start and no dropboxes ( look at the top title and insure its the rom that your getting)
5. Get 7 zip, many times you need to extract the rom and odin files.
remember, as long as you can go into download mode or custom recovery, even if your phone doesn't boot up, you truly have not bricked your phone because you can install a new rom/kernal to your device. (Also, if you have boost or virgin make sure you flash the correct vpn settings otherwise you won't be able to send picture texts and media http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1758735
Whats the difference between the Samsung Gaaxy S and Samsung Galaxy i900?
Q. I am getting a samsung Galaxy s in a few days, and i want to buy a case for it. i was looking on ebay and alot of cases are for the i900 and im wondering if that will fit the galaxy s. also, is there much difference between the two?
I live in Australia if that makes any difference
thanks
sorry, i meant "Samsung GALAXY S"
A. The galaxy S is not the I900, it's a totally different model, than the galaxy S line. The samsung fascinte(sch-i500), vibrant, captivate, epic 4g, continuum are all part of the galaxy S line, but the i9000 is the base model of the galaxy S line, so when you get the phone just ask them which galaxy S it is to make sure, and the model number will be under the battery as well if they don't know/care when you ask.
If it's the global model (not U.S. carrier specific model) you want the i9000, not i900. Sadly the cases for all of the other models will not fit the i9000.
