Q.
A. Sorry, but I disagree with John. Chromebooks are great secondary devices. I have the series 3 ARM chromebook in addition to a large and heavy windows 7 laptop and a samsung galaxy S3 smartphone. They complement each other perfectly. In actual fact, since I got my Chromebook I never felt the need to use my windows laptop for anything, It just keeps gathering dust in the corner and I might even sell it if I still don't feel the need to use it in a couple of weeks. The ARM chromebook feels like the future of computing, it lives completely in the cloud, is fanless, cool and has no hard-drive, so it is completely silent. It is very light and portable. Unlike a tablet, you can get some serious work done on the move in google docs. It is not suited for video editing, gaming and such, but for my needs it is perfect. As a matter of fact my last laptop died because of a virus on windows XP. I did not have the latest version of windows and the most up-to-date virus software and it got completely annihilated, no amount of tricks could restore it. The Chromebook updates to the latest, most secure version of linux-chrome OS automatically and is completely maintenance free. No need to spend on a windows 8 upgrade, antivirus, antimalware or any such bullshit. It is the most secure OS known to man and after doing some research it gives me cold sweats that I used to do online banking on a windows machine. Windows gets 200,000 new viruses a DAY. The Chromebook doesn't get any. It has the most robust safety features outside anything the US military uses. If you do online banking, DO NOT do it on anything other then a chromebook. You were warned.

A. Hi John,
I would recommend the Nokia Lumia 620. As of today, Phones 4U are offering the device (in your choice of cyan/blue, white or black) for just £127.96 (on your choice of Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile, Virgin and O2 PAYG).

The Lumia 620 is a Windows Phone - it doesn't have as many games or apps as available as an Android phone (including the HTC Desire X or your Samsung Galaxy Y). It does have Xbox built in (so new games come every week) - plus you can earn Achievements, view your friends list and edit your Avatar.
There's Nokia Music for completely free and unlimited music mixes. Just choose your favourite artists or genres, and let the music play - no ads, no login, no subscription. You can even store up to four music mixes for offline listening. With the money you've saved, you could also get a micro-SD card (up to 64GB), to add to the 8GB of storage that the phone comes with.
It also has YouTube; a really great software keyboard for texting, and active noise cancellation for really clear calls.
Hope this helps!
