A. Until it says that it is full of battery. It should notify you when its full.

A. you plug in your usb to the computer, then on the galaxy s, say "Mount", then go to your computer, there's a new drive shows up, that's your micro sd card. go in there, there's my pictures folder, those are your pics.
Will upgrading to jelly beans affect phone settings and apps?

A. Yes but I don't think upgrading the version of Android will changed your settings. I upgraded my Galaxy SII and they remained the same.
