Q. I'm starting college in the spring, and was wondering which I should purchase. I was looking at macbooks. What's the difference in a macbook air and a macbook pro? And how many gb hard drive do I need? I know nothing about computers. So please help. I just know I will use it for all my school work, and store all my music, pictures and videos. and for my social networking. thanks :)
also what about IPads? Are they good for college?
A. Ok let me start. So your starting college. Now its time to get a laptop. have an older brother who started college and bought a laptop too!!!! I know he put a lot of work into it so I would recommend a laptop with a lot of memory. Your going to have to take it practically everywhere. So it must be lightweight. Also not just for school but you also want it for looks. it has to be nice and cool. lol . Try to make sure to get an antivirus. You dont want to end up having to replace it because of a nasty virus. You should get one with a lot of battery life. You might have to take it to school and you really dont want to have to charge it in class. Ipads are more of an entertainment product if you ask me so I would say no, Just go with a laptop. The main difference in the 3 computers are the processor and the casing. The difference is that the Macbook is not made of aluminum but more like a hard plastic. It has a slightly slower processor and you can only upgrade to 4GB of RAM.
Macbook Pro is made of precision unibody aluminum enclosure. The processor is one of the fastest you can get in a laptop. The screen bezel is also black to make the screen color pop and make watching movies more enhanced. It includes a SD card slot, Firewire 400 & 800. The RAM is upgradable to 8GB. Macbook Air is very light and thin. Good Processor and great keyboard and screen that's similar to the Macbook Pro. However, no firewire and no DVD drive is a major drawback for someone who wants to burn movies or create movies by importing DV video.
For a college student, I highly recommend the Macbook Pro 13" or 15".
How do I get a prototype made for my idea?
Q. Hello,
I currently have an idea for an iphone accessories. It could actually be for all phones not just iphones. However, I need to get this thing developed but have no clue to where to start. Can anyone out there help me? Who do I go talk to in order to get this accessory made? I would highly appreciate it. Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.
A. You need an enclosure, board layout, firmware programming, etc. Contact an electronics R&D shop, there are plenty of them out there.
Just so you know, the skills and materials needed for this kind of thing are expensive, so be prepared to shell out a lot of cash and be on the hunt for investors. Some R&D firms will meet you half way by reducing upfront costs in exchange for a share of the profits. Its part of the deal, usually inventors only see 10% or so the profits from their idea, but it is better than nothing.
Also, don't be lured in by cheap outsourcing firms...I made this mistake. They'll farm it out to China, but since China doesn't have any copyright or patent laws, they'll "borrow" your design and make their own cheap knockoff after 3-6 months go by, putting you out of business. They even did this with Apple's iPhone and iPad.
is there any way I can attach a photo to my Yahoo! Question?
Q. I have tried photo websites but I can't enable java script on my iPad. I took a photo of my new guinea pig enclosure and I'm seeing people's opinions on it.
A. You have to get a link for the photo in order to see it.
