Q. My charging port is very loose and the charger wobbles around. My mom's Kindle Fire also has the same charging port problem. I've tried other chargers and it is definitely the port not the charger with the issue's. I've examined the port and it looks slightly bent at the top but I'm not sure if I should mess with it. Is this something that I can repair at home, I can't afford to take to repair shop.
A. Send it back to amazon. They will give you a new (perhaps refurbished) one as a replacement. This is a common problem. I am on my second one. I have read discussion boards where people have stated that they are on their 4th replacement.
Will it cost you to replace a Kindle Fire?
Q. I seem to have a problem with charging my Kindle Fire, the USB port has been pushed in. Now I'd like to replace it with Amazon. Will it cost me anything and will the Kindle Fire be new or refurbished?
A. this would be considered physical damage
physical damage is not covered under warranty
you will have to pay for it to be repaired or replaced.
What to do with Kindle Fire with cracked screen, but otherwise works perfect?
Q. I have a Kindle Fire 1st Generation. I recently dropped it and now the screen is cracked. It otherwise still functions fine.
As you can guess, it's really annoying to look at it through the cracked screen.
I called Amazon. It's out of warranty, nor would I expect them really to offer to fix it for free, as it was damaged by me, not a manufacturers defect. But sadly, they don't even offer a repair service.
So what to do?
Even if it can't be repaired, do you think offering it for sale for parts would net me something?
A. I don't know about the parts market but clearly it is time for you to upgrade.
