Sometimes the company would unlock it for free for you. Just say your going out the country and would like to use your phone there.

Yeah, I just realized that there were two versions of the Epic. I thought it was just gonna be one phone that can do both CDMA and GSM, but thanks for the answers guys!
A. Metro uses CDMA so an unlocked Galaxy S2 would do you no good because it is a GSM device.
The Sprint Galaxy S2 (CDMA) does not have a SIM card so it cannot be unlocked but it may be possible to have it flashed for use on Metro.
