How do I download hidden files from my phone?
Q. Hi,
Recently I broke my Samsung Galaxy S4's screen and the digitiser/LCD behind the glass. The device still seems to receive calls but the only problem is the screen. I want to transfer all of my photos from it before I get the LCD and screen replaced because the technician said that there is a possibility that all data will be lost. Is there a way to download my hidden photos from the phone to my mac without having to touch the phone's screen?

I already have my visible photos on my computer through syncing with dropbox, but I think dropbox doesn't recognise the hidden files. So any suggestions would be of great help! Also most of the files are on the internal memory, not a mini sd card.
A. I think you might be using the wrong terms - there are hidden files on your phone (like operating system files) but your photos are almost certainly not hidden.
What I think you mean is you can't see the files using the display on your phone.
EASY: Download and install Android File Transfer (for Mac)

Then plug in the USB cord to your computer and phone. Make sure both are already powered on when you do so.
The Android File Transfer should automatically open. There you can view all the files on your phone.
The photos taken by your phone's camera will be stored in the DCIM folder. Just open that and transfer your images to your computer.
Note that any images that you downloaded from elsewhere or edited may be saved elsewhere. But you can just look around and copy any files to your computer. Don't worry you won't do any harm if you don't delete anything.
