What are some great tweaks/apps for a jailbroken Ipod Touch 4G?

Q. I recently jailbroke mine, so what are some cool things you can do with it.

A. - winterboard app is cool for changing design but you gotta know how to mess around with it because it can be messy lol
- dreamboard app is for completely changing your iPhone theme into android, blackberry, windows phone samsung galaxy sII anything hyou can think of, its pretty cool but it takes up a lot of space
- definitely get installous for all your app needs :)
- check out "barrel" it changes the way the apps move when you swipe between pages
-colorkeyboard-changes keyboard
-deepEnd makes your apps look 3d by moving background when you move your iPod around.
-infinidock allows you to have as many apps on your dock as you want... i don't use that too much i only have like 5 apps on my dock and thats enough for me

besides that theres a loot more stuff you can do check out some youtube vids by typing in top 10 cydia tweaks or best jailbreak hacks... etc.. the possibilities are endless

Original Question

What tablet should I buy for my needs?
Q. I'm not looking for the best ever tablet, just one that will fit these needs for college:

-Android OS
-10 inch screen because I intend to buy all my textbooks as ebooks to save money/not have to carry them and read them fairly comfortably on the tablet
-Smooth enough for decent browsing/youtube and mild casual gaming, NOT any games that would require a powerful device, I'll use consoles for that. As long the tablet isn't too laggy.
-Not too expensive. around 300-350 I'll be buying USED not new
-Has some sort of optional keyboard dock I can buy used for less than 50, I don't care if it's officially supported as long as it works well. I'll probably be writing any essays/assignments on it

Extras that would be nice but not what I expect considering the budger price range:
-Android running ICS or higher
-Fairly sharp nice looking screen
-Optional Stylus that works well

A. Look up on the Samsung website. There isn't much to choose from. Almost every samsung tablet is made for someone. If you want, do your own research, but I did some as well, and based on your needs, this is what I came up with:

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab/GT-N8013EAYXAR

I have this tablet, and Its awesome. Although its screen isn't as sharp as an iPad, it has a lot of cool features and specs like:

-Quad Core processor. Meaning NO lag.

-10.1 screen running the latest Android OS (4.2)

-The S pen (stylus) which I find EXTREMELY useful

-You can get a bluetooth keyboard for the Note 10.1. (Wireless)

-Has expandable storage. So say that you have movies on it, for when you're offline. (Or powerpoint presentations, or textbooks (Which take up a lot of space). You will eventually run out of storage. But thats not a problem, because for $10 or so, you can get a micro SD card, and add more storage. This isn't available with tablets like from Apple.

-True Multi-Tasking. This is REALLY useful for college, because unlike regular tablets, this tablet can do multi-window operations. For example, if you are writing a report, you can have half the screen be the word program, and on the other half, you could be looking at a website to assist you with your report, or something like that. You can even have more than two windows open. Apple doesn't have this.

-Low price. This tablet is $450 for new (thats the price I bought it for), but you can get it for like $350 if its used. Or even less.

Good luck, hope this helped.

Original Question

For a high school student, should I buy a tablet or a laptop?
Q. I am a high school student. I need some sort of portable device to do my work. I can spend $500 at most $600 on this device. I'm stuck between buying a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 or a Laptop for around the same price ($500-$600). Can anyone give me advice, pros and cons of each, and/or which one will benefit me the most and why plz? All answers a really appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!

A. Tablets are capable of many
tasks that were previously only
possible with a laptop or PC. But
that doesnât necessarily mean
laptops are obsolete. There are still
limitations to what you can do with
a tablet. The obvious difference is that all
laptops have a physical keyboard.
Typing long documents is easier
and more comfortable on real keys,
rather than tapping away at a
screen for extended periods.
However, it's possible to buy
keyboards for tablets, too. You can
use a Bluetooth keyboards
such as the Asus Transformer have
an optional keyboard with a second
battery built in.
Tablets can't compete with laptops
on storage, though. Most laptops
have hard disks with capacities
around ten times larger than a
tablet's memory. With a tablet,
you'll have to be choosy about
which photos, videos, music and
documents you store locally. The
rest has to be stored online, or on
a PC or laptop.
Sometimes, tablets can be tripped
up by small things such as drop-
down boxes or other controls on
web pages which are fiddly to use
with a touch-sensitive display. In
general, some websites work better
on a laptop, such as personal
banking and online shopping, since
these sites make heavy use of
Javascript. If a website uses Flash,
a laptopâs browser wonât have any
problem displaying the content,
but youâll run into issues with an
iPad (see below). You may be
fortunate and find an app which
takes care of your banking or
shopping, but on other occasions
the only way to get something
done is to resort to a laptop.
Printing documents is easier on a
laptop too, as itâs closely tied to
the operating system and works
with a wider range of software.
Printing is still possible from a
tablet, but it isnât as easy or
versatile.
Of course, few laptops can match
the portability and long battery life
that most tablets offer. While a
laptop might be too bulky to take
on holiday, a tablet adds little
weight to your hand luggage, and is
ideal when the in-flight
entertainment isnât very good.
Ultimately, laptops and tablets are
complementary devices: it's not a
case of one or the other. Each has
its strengths and weaknesses and is
suitable for different tasks.
Manufacturers are certain to come
up with new ways to make data
even more device independent than
it currently is, with elaborate
docking stations for keyboards and
additional storage, and online
services that mean you never have
to consider which device youâll
need to carry with you. Itâs still
early days for tablets, and while
they havenât yet made laptops
redundant, this might not remain
true forever.
