Q. I want to gift my dad who's an avid reader an Amazon Kindle. He's into Indian authors, so just want to know whether Kindle wud support that?
A. Apparently there are some books in Hind.
I used Google search for "Kindle Books in Hindi."
The link shows the result.
You might try that search for other languages. India has very many of them. Perhaps Bhatki would be a good search term.
I also searched for "ebooks in Hind"i and got many hits. It might be important to know what formats can be displayed on the Kindle.
There was a beautiful Adobe Acrobat file of the Bhagavad-Gita and 42 more books at this link:

What is the difference between ebooks, epub, and kindle books?
Q. Silly question, I know. But do Kindles only support amazon kindle books? Or can you buy and download any type of ebook from other websites to a kindle?
A. Hey bunny, asking 2-nd time? Anyways, Kindle supports PDF so you can side load books however it doesn't support ePub format that is the universal format most used in the world (thus most of free ebooks out there - including in other languages - are in ePub format.) Nook devices support ePub and are also technically much better eReaders. E-Ink Nook Simple Touch from Barnes & Noble at $99 (without ads) has twice the battery life of Kindle ($139 without ads), faster page turns than Kindle, and microSD card slot to expand capacity that neither Kindle has. With Nook you can checkout eBooks from public libraries - just need to get Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) software (free from Adobe site). Also it's worth mentioning that if you walk in with any Nook to Barnes & Noble store, you'll get tech support and youâre allowed to read ANY available eBook for free while in the store via free provided in the store Wi-Fi where Nook eBook store has over 2.5 million of paid books and about the same number of free public domain books. Nook already has Cloud as your ebooks are stored in your online library as well as downloaded to your device. Nook Simple Touch actually has a hidden web browser - just press the virtual "Search" button at the bottom of your Nook's screen and key a URL into the search bar when it comes up. That's not just my opinion - Consumer Reports, CNET, PCWORLD, etc. pro reviews and recommendations stated that Nook Simple Touch is the best ereader on the market.
How can I download gifs to my kindle?
Q. In my settings and information it says that my kindle supports gifs, but when I try to save a gif, it only gives the option to save an image and when it's saved it merely saves whatever shot the gif was on when I hit save. I'm not open to jailbreaking, I'm not good enough with technology to trust myself with that. Thanks for all answers in advance, I really appreciate taking your time to answer my question.
A. I am not sure for a Kindle but on a computer the easiest way would to be, right click the .gif and click open in new tab, then go to the browsers settings and click "save webpage as..." the file should be set to Gif Image. If you can do similar things to this on a Kindle I say give it a shot. Best of luck!
