Q. I bought a samsung galaxy S phone 6 months ago. The phone is working ok, I can charge the phone using the power supply. I got MS window standard error usb device faulty, when I connect the phone to a computer but it charges the phone ok. The only issue is the data side is not working I can't upload data from PC to phone via the usb data cable. I took it to one of samsung repair centres. I was later told the USB port is corrosive caused by liquid damage. Apparently due to condensation or using the phone outside. Hence under the warranty samsung term this is not covered. I was shocked as the phone has not come into contact with liquid. Has anyone have a similar experience with their phone.

Currently in contact with samsung direct, who have agreed to look at the phone and give a second opinion. Having googled this problem, it is MASSIVE and seriously needs dealing with. Condensation I was told, could be you used your phone outside.....wtf ? They didn't warn me this £400 handset could not cope with the cold when I bought it, I am furious....
My phone has never come into contact with ANY LIQUID, so I intend to seek legal advice.
I have contacted The newspaper, watchdog, and the sunday sun consumer rights page. Iphone was investigated regarding the same thing, an independant engineer looked at one of the phones again and found the inside strip not to be water damaged at all, infact it was the strip which detects moisture was in fact showing up as a water damage, confirming that this was a condensation problem and NOT WATER DAMAGE inside the unit.
I beleive the galaxy has the same problem, if a £400 handset has not been built to cope with condensation and moisture in the air, which is everywhere and a very cold winter, it needs recalling.
I would like to round up a few people with the same problem and takes these findings direct to samsung.

A. try it with another pc , if it works , reinstall usb drivers , if not change your usb cable
